Quick (very dim) question
I've ordered a mobile which comes without a Sim card. Do I just pop into a mobile phone shop and buy one ? If so - will they bung it in the phone and get it fired up for me ?

If the phone isn't branded, i.e Vodafone, Orange, O2 etc. Then it's classed as "Sim Free" and should accept any network's sim. And yes they should be able to set it up for you.0

Most, if not all, networks, offer their SIM cards for free, just go to their website and order one. When it comes, just pop it in the phone and it should work (or you may need to ring up to register, but if you do, you'll get full instructions with the SIM). I've put some links below for the main networks.
