i find this amount incredible but if your daughter is 19 she is legally regarded as an adult . if she has made the calls she is legally responsible for them. you say you have an on line bill- have you gone through this item by item looking for any potential errors- if you can find some it may help help reduce the amount being requested. there were some cases a while back where people were receiving texts to their mobile phone which they hadn't requested and were being charged for. the people concerned took it up with mobile phone co and complained and had charges back etc - can't remember where i read story (sorry lack of source not really helpful) but hopefully you understand the point being made.I'm flabbergasted too. I suspect this is a story that many journalists would llike to cover - about irresponsibility of the mobile companies. It may help get rid of the bill when pressure is put on them too. Its not my type of story but I'd be happy to pass it on if you would like. However beware that means your daughter would be featured on this - and that isn't necessarily what you want. If you would llike me to pass the story on - please send me a PM (personal message) with your name and phone number.
Being featured in the media would be potentially very embarrasing for your daughter and every time stories like this appear it always opens the debate of responsibility of the comanies v responsibility of the individual. people often write in letters saying 'people got what they deserved' which only fuels the fire and distress to the indiviuals concerned.
have you contacted which magazine- they may write a story with just a little piece in their magazine saying 'miss a of liverpool' which could distract attention away from your daughter- there could be thousands of miss a's in liverpool. did you contact martin after? if so what was outcome? would his journalist friend or colleague be prepared to write article just saying 'miss a' - why can't his journalist friend or colleague just write story saying 'we came across one case recently where.....'. i take the point when people actually appear on telly or in papers it becomes more real and thus more effective pubilicity.0 -

There has been a lot of good advice posted on this thread, but we have not heard from the OP since 2nd August.
Has the problem been resolved/ If so please could scocky let us know - the answers may be of use to others.
Or, if the problem is still ongoing, why not take the advice offered and let us know the outcome - we are genuinely interested.
Thanks.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
