Water consumption?

Options
I've just had a bill for the last 6 months and it shows that we used 100 cubic litres of water. I'm trying to find out if thats a reasonable amount for 3 adults + 1 17 year old and a Uni student who's home about 4 months of the year? Any one got an idea as to what is considered average for a household?
Thanks

MM

Average is 60 cubic metres per person per year.

So you are well below average.

Thanks I thought we were pretty good - trouble is our water bill is still almost £700 per year and I can't see anyway (apart from kicking the kids out lol) of cutting it down!

i know in my house we use 2 unit's a week max thats 2 adults and 2 kids (3 and 5)
and got a shock when i checked the meter to see we had used 4 units in a week.
turns out we have a leak and in is getting worse so the 2 units i thought we used is wrong to we use less
just waiting for the water company to fix the leak now 3 month que :(

We used 48 in 6 months, 2 adults and 2 toddlers, we don't use much as kids have small baths!

Or live in South West England?

200 cubic metres per year will cost more than £700 in some parts of UK

If the leak is your side of the meter then it is usually your responsibility to fix it, not the supplier's. Have they confirmed that they will fix it at their expense?

Nope I'm not in arrears but I live on the south-west coast and pay extra compared to everyone who lives in land!!! We have to pay to keep the beaches and coastline clean!!

    hi
they have fixed it now our water meter is 50 meters from the house near the main road the leak was on the pathway before our land it wa about 5 inc from the meter they said it was a loose connection they fixed it in 30 mins after digging up the road

good news is since then they asked me for a avg reading i did one on thur it was 1237. 7422 and 1 week later it was 1238.8989.
so we used 1156 liters in a week (about 3 pounds worth)
they have said as the leak was next to the meter on public land they will only bill us on the avg reading i gave them :j:j:j:j:j

maybe if you think of it as £2 a day for fresh water in & dealing with your waste it wont sting as much....... 50p each a day... try buying the amount of water you drink in a day for that alone!

Sorry had not read the end of the post! & glad you got a good result ! ..... but maybe we all need to think what we actually get for our money lol
I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know
