Thanks for the support. I have a horrible feeling the data that I am missing is with Equifax. :(

    Why pay £12 per month?

You can get the statutory report for £2.

    Please see Martin's article

its not £12 a month, its for 3 months and I prefer to access things straight away than wait when it comes to credit checking. I sell on ebay which will pay for it and I will cancel this one after 3 months.

it appears that equifax and experian are much the same as i have just joined equifax and it shows roughly the same as experian!!! callcredit had a bank account which the other 2 dont. call credit also give a credit score for free, equifax i dont think they do.

try not to get to paniky about this, its good that you are looking even though you get a huge feeling over you. your making the big step in looking, after that youll be fine!!!!

If you need it that frequently then fair enough. :)

Until recently the CRAs did their best to hide the fact on their websites that you could get your report for just £2 each time.

Obviously they prefer people to sign up and pay more.

So many many people think/thought the only way to get it was to subscribe, so I had to check.

Depends who the lenders in question are. Some report to both.

Others just do one or the other.

Saying that, it seems that more and more are reporting to both as time goes on. :)

Once I get all the report back I will know what is going on. I am not too worried at the end of the day, I have had debt and that is all there is too it. This is my kind of....attempt to polish up my score a bit to make sure I get go for things.

Even though I have had debt in the past (and as I have stated, some is quite old now) I run my bank accounts like clock work and was told that (should I want to, which I dont) I could endure some luck with applying for credit products from my bank themselves. I dont think I will ever do that though, was an interesting statement though.

Anyways on the subject of reports it is very interesting to see what black marks are on you and I will let you know how they come back and what they say.

Again, thanks for the support it is great knowing there are folk I can talk to about this kinda thing at my fingertips.

What I was "thinking" was, as most of my debt is quite old now, well over 6 years, It is not showing on my reports anymore (although a couple are but I expected those) Thats what I was hoping for in fact. It state's that debt over 6 years old is no longer on your file regardless of it being settled or not.

Thats often the case (although it depends on what has happened on the account when) - are these old debts that you have been paying off gradually or old debts that you haven't been paying at all recently?

You'd be surprised at how many people don't get it. Even of those that come on here. Which is why I had to check.
