Credit Reports - Experian

Hello again,

I was wondering if someone knew if you get a copy of your credit report would this show your debts? The reason I ask this question is because I got a copy of mine and as expected a few of my debts are on there but not them all (which surprises me because I would have assumed they would all show up.

I got it from Experian and I also go my credit score which came back as....the national average.

Can I trust the report I am reading or??

Not all creditors report to all 3 agencies.

Some report to only one. So just checking Experian is unlikely to show everything up if you have a range of creditors.

You need to check all 3 preferably.

Sorry for my slowness but other than experian what are the other two?
  • I think the others equifax I don't know about the third one hopefully someone will. People alsways say the credit score is a waste of cash because every lender uses a different tool :-) all the best

It just gets more and more complicated lol. I used that Credit Expert (as seen on TV nowadays) to get my credit report and score etc. I was hoping that it was my report overall but alas....it seems not. :(
  • Hi there, the other one i believe is call credit i think. its c something anyway. Its all very confusing! Its good to see the credit reports, definately makes you want to get debt under control!!! I watch experian like a hawk, just need to do the other 2 now also.
  • I have just joined call credit, for 3 months its £12 through their internet. only one item has shown up on the score.

Does anyone know if Sky would show up anywhere?

    Why pay £12 per month?

You can get the statutory report for £2.

What I was "thinking" was, as most of my debt is quite old now, well over 6 years, It is not showing on my reports anymore (although a couple are but I expected those) Thats what I was hoping for in fact. It state's that debt over 6 years old is no longer on your file regardless of it being settled or not.

The whole reason behind my interest in this is I am looking to get a mortgage with my partner and Id like my credit rating to be....above average at best. Given what the report shows it is exactly that. That is only Experian of course. I have joined Equifax to get the other information and will join CallCredit too.
  • Ah my why can't life be simple and just have one credit file company :-) goof luck with the mortgage x
