Usually signal loss during PAC transfer is only a few hours at most. Have you tried your new sim?
  • O2 offered me a similar deal with 750 mins and 750 texts last month but for 20quid. It appears this £15 discount only lasts for 12 months however

I think, best to phone them up from landline or a mates phone..and also complain and get some compensation or discount..

  • The 'porting' process usually takes a few hours as mentioned by reelcrazy.
The process always takes place on the day specified by O2 unless there are any problems.
The signal issue you are describing sounds about right for the process but as its been in excess of 24 hours now, then somethings not quite right :(
The most obvious sign is that when you put the old sim card into a working o2/unlocked handset - it will display "unregistered sim" on the handset screen.
Check to see if this is the case.
Also with the new sim, put it in your handset and the switch the handset on and off a few times (letting it fully boot each time).
If you still have no signal try a manual network selection in the handset menu, by first selecting any network from the list except o2 - of course the handset/sim will not allow access, but will then return tio the list of available networks. this time select o2 and hopefully it will log onto the network this time.
If you still ahve no luck, then you will definately have to phone o2 (i know this is difficult for you) but something will definately not be right at this point.
Dont worry, I am 100% sure that it is a fault at o2's end, rather than being anything wrong with your fone or sim card.
  • nope, didnt work! thanks fr the advice thou.
