**Update**
Just got back from Lloyds, they said we could still hold a Joint account, but it wouldn't allow SO's or DD's, so very basic! So we've agreed that's no good. The other option we were given, was to take DH's name off this joint account, and still have his wages etc paid into it, but obviously then he wouldn't have a bank card, so would have to rely on cash all the time.
I have rung CO-OP, and tried to open an account over the phone, but they need more info, so we'll see. If they decline us, at least we have lloyds to fall back on, in my sole name I suppose :) So we'll see! Not really sure what to do tbh. Thank you everyone for your advice :)

We currently bank with Lloyds Tsb. My DH will be going BR sometime in April.
I have spoken to Lloyds about my DH situation (joint-account) who have said they will allow us an account with-out any credit facility, we currently have a cheque-book/overdraft on there, both of which they would remove (which they would make a note of on the account) so we are going in today to see them.
Now I have questioned, will the account be frozen (which If I'm right in thinking, its not the OR that freezes it's the bank?) which they couldn't give us an answer on (which is why we have got to go into the branch today) Now my query is, if the account gets frozen, and Lloyds have agreed to DH still holding a joint-account with them (alongside me) will the OR contact them to ok it? Have spoken to our CAB advisor, who thinks they will allow us to have an account, its just if it gets frozen, how do we get it un-frozen, so DD's etc can still be paid?

sorry like Classy I'm really not sure...... (Classy I love your signature!!)

I know my friends had a joint account with Natwest (unlike you the never disucssed with the bank her OH's position) and I know it was frozen immedatiately.

I am sure that someone more "in the know" will be along soon to help.

I was under the impression that the only BR friendly banks were Co-op and Barclays and that all others were frozen by the banks.

I do know that others on here have been advised by staff in branches of banks that the accounts wouldn't be frozen and then they were.

If it were me I would open a separate account and get all the dd's etc on that one just in case.

I think I agree with Doucam and to be on the safeside and to make sure everything is paid I would open a separate account

Be careful LTSB are not BR friendly and when I enquired about an account I was told that do not entertain undischarged BR`s. The only really BR friendly banks are the Coop and Barclays.

Explained that DH would be going BR, and all the staff I have currently spoken to, have said they could offer us an account, just not with credit facilities, but they were then unsure about the freezing of the account? Surely if Lloyds agreed to allowing us an account, even if it gets frozen, surely they have to un-freeze it because they have agreed to us having that account?
Could only use Co-Op if not, as one of DH debts are with Barclay's, and I know they sometimes allow you to open an account, even if you've had a debt with them, but I'd be to concerned they'd start taking money from that account, to get there money back.

Believe me the banks are a law unto themselves, see the link below about LTSB.

The reason I asked about Barclays is because there have been peeps on here who have opened an account with them before BR and Barclays have tried to claim the money, I opened a coop account 3 months before going BR and a barclays a couple of months after going BR.
