that's a great site Bun. I still have my Mum's 60th present to buy (it.......cough....was a while back.....but they were in Canada at the time and that's my excuse!) and I'm either going to name a star after her or buy her the title of 'Lady'. Both a bit of fun I know but I think she'd like either.

I'd love to have a star named after me.

Ok, Pint the font of all things boiler is sat next to me and he says....
If it's changing from an old system to a combi boiler, it'll take 2 blokes a day, dependant on gas meter, whether you need to change the pipe, and putting in a pipe for condensing. It depends on what needs doing. If it's from old, you need to change the tanks too, and put it all in. So it could get up to 4, but shouldn't.
If it's combi to combi, it's a day's work for one bloke, as you don't need to uprate the gas main, but may need to put a condenser trap in. That would be about 1.5 maybe
ETA: Pint is doing a system change and adding a rad in, and that's costing just over 2, but it does depend on the size of the house. Bog standard 3 bed would be a normal size, if you have more bathrooms or en-suites and stuff that's where it's pricey

I also haven't had much to say of late.

Had a crappy day at work today. Little office biatch (and wannabe footballers wife) brought a file over to me that clearly said return to me to finish.

She said, in a 'sweet but threatening' kind of voice, 'I don't mind working this for you but I'll have to log all the missing parts as errors'.

I said 'but the are not errors, I just haven't finished it - I was waiting for the customer to call back with some info, as I couldn't finish it without it'.

She said 'Well, if you haven't filled in the sheet, and I work it, I will have to log each missing section as an error'. :wall:

So I said 'Well that's fine, leave it here and I'll work it'.

She said 'No, I don't mind doing it for you, I was just telling you I would have to log the errors if I do'.

I said, 'Fine, no problem, leave it with me and I'll work it'

She said, 'No, you don't have to...I'm happy to do it for you'.

I said, 'Look, it's fine, it's my file, leave it here and I will finish it, as it clearly says I am going to' (starting to get just a little bit tetchy but trying to be polite and not snap her stupid little airhead off).

She replied 'Never mind, I will do it myself, I was trying to do you a favour', and flounced off, no doubt to b*tch about me to her silly, b*tchy, airhead mates and log lots of errors against me.

Meanwhile, I sat there thinking '!!!!!!???' and wondering just how I could have said I would do it SO MANY !!!!!!! TIMES and yet she still heard it as 'I wont do it', and despite it CLEARLY saying return it to me so I could finish it.
