  • Hello,

I promise I will read back but I need grown up advice, Mum has been quoted 4000 pounds for a new boiler. Am I right in thinking that is CRAZY.

its for a combi boiler and includes 2.5 days labour for 2 men.

Apparently they have to put a waste pipe in?

    Nevertheless she persisted.

Thats the cost for everything Buffy???

We paid £1000 for a new combi boiler and had it moved from the kitchen to the air cupboard upstairs. Was only 1 day (if I recall correctly) and we didn't have any new pipes or anything.

Spud-I love you. I havent got much to say either as head is firmly implanted up arris

I bought one of these for a friend and personalised it. He LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Not sure if your brother is into football but there are loads of things on this site for the person who has everything-go thru Quidco and get 7% back I think?! V v v good, fast, amazing service, never been let down by them before.

    Evening all btw

I bought the Man Utd one for OH a few years back.

Unfortunately there aren't enough glory stories from Grimsby to fill one :rotfl:

Seems pretty steep. Boilers start at about £1400 upwards, not sure how far upwards they go though. Could ask some local gas fitters? Sounds a bit like they think she's getting a grant for it so they might as well add a big mark up.

£4k seems a huge amount. How about popping the quote on the Is This Fair board on MSE (the board name might be slightly different, but similar sounding).
