  • I use H-L too and they have been great so far. I decided to choose 3 funds to spread a little risk, each had a min of £1000 lump sum investment (or you could pay in monthly). Have you thought of choosing a few? One of mine is actually a tracker as I thought I would see how it performed in comparison to the two funds I chose.

On the customer service side I made an error online (added too much to one fund) and after a quick phonecall the advisor rectified it there and then. I have been really pleased to date and love the fact you can log in and check on your funds anytime.

As a newbie I researched quite a bit and thought H-L was best suited to my requirements. You can graph performance of funds etc (max of 7, remembering past history is no indication of future performance). Just be aware of TER's and associated costs within the ISA.

    Good luck.

Newbie2saving if you do want to get around that £1,000 limit you can sell some of one of your other funds and put the money from that into up to five different funds. No limit on how small those other five buys can be but it's nice to try to keep them above the £50 that is the minimum HL wants for regular monthly buys. Once you have any amount in a fund in this way you can directly add £250 instead of £1,000 or you can continue to buy one fund and sell and split as required to fund others.

Thanks Jamesd, I didn't know that. Good to know and hope it may help the OP as well as myself!
