Vodafone upgraded my plan without any notice

Options
I'm on a monthly deal with Vodafone in the past 12 months or so, and have been charged £10 per month. Suddenly this month I was shocked when my plan has been upgraded to 18 months contract with £30 a month and I've been charged that amount. And they don't even bother let me know this. What should I do now? I want to have my £10 deal back and also get refunded for the amount they've overcharged me this month.

Was the £10 deal a discounted one?

As above, are you sure you are not on a deal. Who did you sign up with? Do you have written proof of your contract?

If it was brought directly via vodafone on the phone you have to be careful as the last few months aren't usually in the deal.

Yes, that was a discounted one from retention deparment

I was told on the phone that the deal was £10/month contract for 12 months. I didn't check my vodafone online account until now just to realise that I'm on a 18 months contract and now they started charging me £30 per month. I don't have any written proof of contract, and neither do they. I feel like being cheated.

I just phoned them up and they insist I'm on a 18 months contract. What a poor customer service from Vodafone.

It could be that you were put on an 18 month contract, discounted for twelve months with the remaining six months at full price.

You never get the full contract at a discounted rate, its always the remaining three or six months at the full price.

From my experience, Vodafone tell you it's a discounted contract for 12/18 months, but then start charging you the full price after 9/12 months. I spoke to customer services on behalf on my mum last year about this, and he admitted it was a very underhanded approach, apologised, and refunded what was overcharged,

    Hi matchedbetter

I can understand you being upset if this isn't a part of your deal that you were aware of or is a mistake.

If you send me an email from here with a link to your thread and your username I'll investigate this for you. Make sure when you send the email that you include the code WRT135 so it comes straight to my team.

I'm sure I can get to the bottom of this.

    All the best
