Anyone got very long sleek and shiny hair?

If so, what shampoo and conditioner do you use?
I've got waist length hair and I used Pantene Smooth and Sleek for years and had lovely smooth and shiny hair. However they must have changed the formula when they started selling it in 500ml bottles, as I started getting really thick greasy hair within hours of shampooing it. It was definitely the shampoo as I used my daughters baby shampoo for a couple of washes, and then went back to the Pantene and the grease came back.
So far I've tried Tressemme but that just left my hair dull, frizzy and it felt dry like straw.
James Brown Scandalous but that just left my hair in a tatty tangled mess.
Currently using Elvive Full Restore 5, which is ok and leaves my hair in reasonable condition but it is slightly dry and frizzy.
Not looking to spend a fortune on products and spend up to £5 for a 400/500ml bottle, and ideally something that is often on promotion so I can stock up :money:

Here I go again on my own....

I have long hair too. I use Pantene - sometimes Smooth and Sleek for a conditioner, otherwise the Classic one or Ice Shine - but I always use the Clarifying shampoo. That stops my hair from getting greasy.0 -

I use Garnier Fructis 'sleek and shine' - it's often on offer. My hair is long and tends to be dry and frizzy if I use the wrong shampoo. No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!0

Have you tried Elvive the amber coloured one? I have very thick, wavy/frizzy hair and this is the only thing that tames it. hth0

I'm using Elvive SmoothIntense, for thick frizzy hair - seems to be working!0

I am another fan of Loreal Smooth Intense but the light one, and now they are discontinuing it:mad:the other loreals are not as effective on my long wavy hair so I've stocked up, I shall watch this thread with interest.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Tresemme, no hairdrying, straighten maybe once a month. Wash and condition every day. That's what I do but I have to wear my hair up for work so don't need to dry/straighten often.0

I use Aussie Luscious Long shampoo and conditioner, Pantene and Elvive always make my hair really, well, gloopy is the only way I can describe it!Paddle #8 DFW Nerd #12840

I have long straight hair, and I absolutely detest Pantene and Fructis - tried them both and my hair felt like it had chip fat in it! Ugh.
Affordable alternatives then: I love the pink and red Herbal Essences range (still working my way through a stash of the old style bottles though so no idea what the new equivalent is but you can find the old ones in £ shops). Aussie moisture range (and 3 Minute Miracle) is my fave though and frequently on offer.
My hair is blonde and quite prone to greasiness, so I also use Aussie Aussome Volume, it makes a great clarifying shampoo.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Boots own honey and jojoba shampoo and conditioner (£1.19 a bottle) works wonders on my hair. Since using it my hairdresser has commented how much the condition has improved. I straighten my hair frequently too.0
