Allowances when i bankruptcy

Hello there

I'm due to declare bankruptcy but thought I knew every little detail about it all, turns out im not 100% sure, Just analysing my incoming and outgoing expenditure, and wanted to know, when in bankruptcy, what allowances they give you for food, clotheing, toiletries, travel expenses etc.

My main stumbling block is the initial fee aswell, as being a compulsive gambling addict (went to my first gamblers anonymous meeting last night) its very hard to get paid and not want to just risk it all chasing that rainbow... and I'm due to ring one or two of the charities associated with Debt and bankruptcy in a second

Any replies or personal one on one help would be appreciated, I can disclose all my details if needs be, turns out im not as cocksure as I thought i was, maybe ive been building a brick wall around myself

Thanks for all replies in advance

Before you decide anything, do like you said you are doing, and talk to one of the debt charities.

I'll put down my situation...might make life easier

Ok, my name is Robert Hughes and I'm a compulsive gambler

Ive been gambling since extremely young, My nana and grandad got me playing cards for pennies and two penny's, as i got older it became 5p's and 10p's, into my early teens it became Pounds and notes, U get the drift...Anyway... As i got older, Got a job, couldn't believe the amount of wealth (it seems that way as u know when u get your first job) I had at my disposal, and I gambled on poker nights with my friends, either winning or losing it didn't matter.

I ran my own online business from home selling pixelated items in an online player database, the gamblign took a backseat because I was earning ALOT of money for my age and I was extremely happy with my then girlfriend. 6 months on however the market had ran dry and so had the girlfriend, Gambling was back as it was an escape, a person at my meeting for GA last night called it a curse, in a poem that he had written, he's not wrong. It is a curse.

Eitherway, aged 22 I started Sports betting, Little bets, 10/20 quid at a time, but suprisingly, I was winning... had i found my calling? over the year I found myself gambling on everything, mainly football, id put double the amount to cover my losses and id usually finish the day up, the times were good. anyway, Time passed, I increased my bets because i thought it was easy but slowly i started running out of money, by age 24 I was now borrowing to pay my gambling. In June last year it was the time Of the european Football championships and some darts championship, can't remember which one... Overall I won 13,000 pound, I went out, spent about 2 grand of it on nice things for my rented house and then proceeded to lose the rest of it within a matter of weeks, Quickly I got myself into an IVA with my "then" partner who lived with me, Since then its been a downward spiral, Ive got debts of 19,450 but I havent been food shopping in 4 months because id rather gamble than eat, Ive finally admitted Ive got a problem and I went to my first GA meeting last night... Very full on but probably needed in the grand scheme of things... Now onto my financial situation...Ive lost my girlfriend, Ive lost most of my friends, I feel so useless, pathetic, Alone.. Ive buried my head in the sand for too long and now I need to deal with it, I decided on bankruptcy but im not 100% about everything. Im a salesman by trade and I think my luck has finally run out with this brick wall Ive built around myself...

    OK! Finances as follows...

    Income - Salary 12,333 - Commision -- anywhere between 250-500 a month

thats before tax, I pick up between 1000-1100 on average after tax

    Outgoings...

I now live alone so I'm without my partners Rental income of 300 quid, which is whats messed up my IVA payments. The following I know Im going to be judged for, and I know I have to stop these things, but u have to understand I dont have any friends and these little luxuries are what Keeps me going...

    Outgoings...

Rent and Bills all inclusive - 600 a month
Iva (was) (still is) - 217 a Month
Mobile phone and Phone insurance - 50 a Month
    Sky television/broadband/Line rental - 70 a Month
Two Credit cards not included in the iva since maxed out - 20-30 a month
Online gaming subscription (my only means of social activity at the moment) 10 a month
travel Expenses to Work - 60 Pounds a month

Total without food... 1037 pounds a Month...
Without IVA - 820 a Month then Food and shopping

I have had no luck with my IVA company, Debt free direct, I have recieved no correspondence, everytime Ive tried to ring them they tell me a supervisor will call me back, no luck yet, and Ive been told by cccs its because they Know they Wont get a penny back from me...

Advice needed... Sorry for the wall of text, probably missed alot out, feel free to ask any questions...

Why so high?? No need for Sky and why the need to spend £50 on a mobile contract? Im on a £10 monthly sim only contract with Virgin- unlimited text and 200 call time minutes.
"No likey no need to hit thanks button!":p
However its always nice to be thanked if you feel mine and other people's posts here offer great advice:D So hit the button if you likey:rotfl:

I signed up with a contract to get an Iphone with the intention of going bankrupt, rendering it meaningless, I could get the iphone Chipped on a sim only from 02

also - 10 quid a month unlimited texts sounds very good from virgin

    breakdown of sky is...

11 quid a month Line rental
    10 quid a month broadband
49 quid television packages and HD subscription (this was bought when I was in my relationship)

Could you possibly redo your SOA using the link below and the post it up again and we will have a look at it, the allowances in an IVA are different to BR, eg you are not allowed Sky on your BR SOA.
