  • I've read on the ebay forums that ebay operate on 40 day periods... for example, if they receive a number of reports on one seller within 40 days, they treat it the same way as one report. (I think)

The trick is... once the seller is reinstated, to catch them at it again in the NEXT 40 days - then ebay start taking serious notice. (Apparently)

There are some seasoned scam-busters on the ebay boards... I'l see if I can dig up any useful info.

We should make our own scam-busters team on here.

Maybe our own theme tune while we at it.

    Hello Dean,

Thank you for writing back to us regarding your cencerns in relation to
the user kellsbell1010. Please allow me the opportunity to assist you
    further.

I have reopened the investigation for you but I could not find enough
evidence shoeing a breach of eBay bidding policy, I am afraid.

eBay is always very concerned about breaches of its policies and have
thoroughly investigated your report. In accordance with our policies,
however, I have found that there is not enough evidence to show that a
violation has taken place. We can reopen the investigation if any
    additional information can be provided.

Due to privacy policies, we are unable to provide specific information
regarding the result of our investigation to third party members. Please
understand that this is for the protection of all eBay users.

Well i sent another email .......

    Hello Dean,

Thank you for writing back to us with your suspicions of Shill Bidding
by the members 'kellsbell1010 & purplehog11'. My name is Sarah, I can
understand why you're concerned that members you feel are bad eBayer's
    are still active on eBay.

Let me reassure you that it's our top priority to ensure eBay remains a
safe and reputable place to buy and sell. We therefore take reports of
members breaking our rules very seriously.

As per our previous emails, we have thoroughly investigated your report
of Shill Bidding. There is no evidence that shill bidding is occurring.

Although, a member bidding on multiple items from one particular seller,
may in some situations indicate shill bidding, in this instance it does
    not.

Please note that we take this matter very seriously whether or not a
member has 4000 feedback. We would take appropriate action if shill
    bidding was occurring.

As you know, it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, so we
can't share details of our investigation. I hope this reassures you that
personal information relating to your account will always remain
    private.

I hope this information helps to clarify this matter for you. We
appreciate your time and support in helping us keep eBay a safe and fun
    place to buy and sell.

    Kind regards,

    Sarah Hope
