Isn't it amazing how the blatent shill bidders get away with it, yet two of my friends have had their accounts suspended for doing it once with their husbands accounts!0

Because the seller is avoiding either a "reserve price auction" or a higher starting price.frivolous_fay wrote:How are they losing fees? If the item sells for more, they get more.
Listing fees will be avoided although FVFs are the same. Can I help?0 -

The first one was suspended within an hour of this thread being started, so no need at all to hold our breath

If the one you reported is shilling as seems likely they aren't very good at it. They keep winning!

I've reported shill bidders before...
Even if eBay suspend the sellers, it's generally only for a week and they're back doing it again with the same usernames - I've kept an eye on a few sellers that I've reported, suspension doesn't seem to bother them or affect their behaviour.
So long as eBay are getting their FVFs...
best thing to do is protect yourself by keeping your wits about you. This is a useful tool if you are suspicious...

I've read on the ebay forums that ebay operate on 40 day periods... for example, if they receive a number of reports on one seller within 40 days, they treat it the same way as one report. (I think)
The trick is... once the seller is reinstated, to catch them at it again in the NEXT 40 days - then ebay start taking serious notice. (Apparently)
There are some seasoned scam-busters on the ebay boards... I'l see if I can dig up any useful info.My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
