PAYG internet dongle for laptop

Is there such a thing? i.e. Mobile internet without a contract.

Basically, is there one where you get a free dongle and then pay for usage or pay for a month only or something?

You won't get a free dongle - but they only cost about £20, so not too expensive. There's a list of all the deals and providers here http://www.chooseisp.co.uk/.../mobile-broadband/pay-as-you-go.asp

Then it works just like a pay as you go mobile phone. You buy top-up's or top-up online and there's no contract and once your usage runs out, that's it - no automatic billing charges, it'll just stop working until you top up again.

Be wary of 3 pay as you go though - I've heard they don't just turn it off when you've used your usage limit.

Currently using 3 mobile broadband and it always switches mine off when I've used my limit. Sends me to a screen telling me to top it up
