Hi ,

Yes very well aware, had a caravan for 5 years , always happens every year over Easter.

A pain in the butt for us to try and rent out, my sister in law is there at the moment, then I've got a let ( hopefully this one has taken on board what I said about no entertainment), then I sold one on E bay but the stupid woman says she rung Butlins and you can't even go on site, or use the pool and funfair ( which you can) so i've got a non payer even though I advertised it as No Entertainment .

So I guess unless you have got a very new and naive owner they are trying to pull the wool over your eyes.

To be fair to them ( if they deserve it) we don't get the Caravan News Letter until the season has started which then tells us what events are on for the season , but if they have had a caravan longer than a year they would know what Spring Harvest is about.

• Yes. Spoke to caravan owner who said he found out a few weeks ago. Still decided not to tell us though.

Getting a complete refund now.

Conning git. I think he had our money and then decided to keep quiet in case we wanted to cancel if we knew the full facts....
• Well cheque turned up which is good news.

He couldnt resist sending a note also where he says that hes disgusted that he as, an old pensioner, was spoken to in this way. Basically, I think he means that my wife had the nerve to complain about it and didnt back down when he started shouting down the phone. And that he got caught out.

So, still no apology or anything but a result. If I ever book a caravan at butlins I'm gonna phone to make sure all services are normal.

Apparently, hes reporting our behaviour to the caravan association too.

For the record, we left the caravan in an immaculate condition because I didnt want to give him anything to moan about. (Also, I'm not the sort of person who'd do that sort of thing).

Selling rental of your caravan with No entertainmnet listed is fair enough. If you dont read it then its your fault.

Turns out the owner DID know a few months ago but decided not to tell us because in his words 'there was some entertainment its not all cancelled'.

In other words, got the money off them now, and I aint going to own up to anything in case they want to cancel.
• Well, back in Butlins next week. Staying in caravan 2. Renting off a lovely couple and I can confirm that its business as usual at Butlines next week !!!!
;31588561]Owners here. Were you aware that the next three weeks at Minehead were taken up by the Spring Harvest festival and that facilities were limited during this time?

Just been this weekend and were disappointed to discover this.) Owner said he didnt know about it until a few weeks ago (but still decided to keep our money and not tell us!
what a load of rubbish that is, it happens every year over easter, i used to work there for 9 years so know this very well, and they do shut down all the entertainment, as well as all the bars so they dont sell alchohol, what makes you laugh is you walk past there accomodation and see the windows full of empty tins of lager:eek:

they even have the staff bar shut down whilst they are there, forcing staff to walk past accomodation units full of aclchol whilst they are walking up town to get a drink, it is a joke:mad:

I have a caravan at Butlins Minehead and this is what we have been told in our news letter.

Internet access

Many of you are aware that a Wi Fi internet system was installed at the resort for guests, caravannners and team members to gain access to the internet . Unfortunately the system that was installed was in adequate and unreliable , constantly breaking down. We have now dispensed with the services of the company supplying the Wi Fi system. In the short term until we source a new Wi Fi internet provider we have created internet hot spots around the resort which are free to use . The nearest hot spot to the Caravan Park is at the Highway Man Pub.

hi,
will be going in a weeks time to minehead, this time i definately need internet acsess,
IIRC last year there was openzone wifi in the apartment (£25/5days wich im willing to pay) then free wifi in the skyline, but 3g coverage was non existant in the apartment.

do they still have the openzone up and working just not investing in more points or is it all taken down? do you know if theres many wifi points arount the silver apartments (self catering) or if there's good 3g coverage from any provider?

cheers
