OP, your most recent post tells us that 'nearly all' ovens are too big for the hole.
Your first post tells us that the council created this situation.
Surely the answer is to get the council back to do the job properly, isn't it?0 -
I can offer only sympathy for you.
I had a kitchen 'refit' from the council about 2 years ago inc a complete house rewire.
they designed the kitchen on their laptop in my living room with me asking what appliances i had and where did i want them, what colour scheme did i want, great i thought.
The whole rewiring was a shambles, all carpets had to be pulled back (no problem there, needs to be done) but were not put back properly and now there are folds and don't reach the skirting. the sockets are failing now, (after 2 years!!) apparently the contractors used the cheapest materials that are now just burning out.
The design on my kitchen looked lovely, the washing machine was going to be placed right in the corner with the draining board sat on top and sink next to it.
only they didn't do it as when they replaced all the pipe work they claim they cut the pipes too short and so the sink would have to go the other way, sink in corner ...., and now has a dip where the water collects.
didn't get the colour scheme i asked for as they didn't have it, the job should of taken 1 week as they were doing the whole block at the same time. was made to sign a disclaimer to say they would not be liable for any damage to my things.
I am lucky tho, next block along the rewiring was done, and it was so bad the flat caught fire.
The contractors are Rok, who got awarded a lot of money for the contract only to use the cheapest of materials that now need to be replaced.
I refused to sign off their work as they haven't actually finished in my view.
Did you tell, show the contractors the oven you were having in the space before they started the work?0
