Shall i open an ISA for 2010/2011 now or After April 5?

Is there any rule to this?

i have already exceeded the amoutn for this year so can i transfer the amoutn and open next years now?

also rate wise will there be better rates in10 days time or/?

    How have you exceed your amount this year?
    Need to talk to your bank about it - well probably HMRC and get a slap on the wrist.

    As for next year, you will have to wait till 6th April.

    No, only one ISA per tax year. Use it or lose it.

    i shall reattempt lol

    last year mid april i opened an ISA 2009/10 and put in £3600 this means in 10 days or less the ISA will now be completed

    Now i was t open one for next tax year 2010/11
    im wondering whther i can open it now or do i have to open it after the 6th?

    You have to wait until April 6th.

    Lots of people (myself included) have opened the A & L 3.5% Flexible ISA for 2010/11 but don't intend to deposit any money into it until after 6 April.
