I have completed my 09/10 spreadsheet using UKmonkeys template from the first page. Do I have to download it again to start one for 10/11 or is there a way to start a new one in excel?? I am totally useless at spreadsheets and excel and have tried playing around with it for ages now to no avail!!

    Any help or advice appreciated.

    Many thanks

    Ang

Hi again Ang, glad it's working fine for you after the initial hiccup! Just download it again for the new tax year.

    Hello all,

A few questions you might be able to help me with...

Do you have to take someone with you on an RE food and drink assignment as I find they are normally 1 meal but 2 drinks so if you took someone with you, you would have to pay for the 2nd anyway.

How long does it take for ESA to give you an assignment - applied to quite a few but they keep being assigned to others.

I'm sure there was another but I can't remember right now.

    Thanks in advance!!

Remembered now, GR don't seem to have many assignments available - is this always the case?

I've done the RE jobs on my own. You have to order a hot and cold drink so I had a hot chocolate while I waited for my meal and then had a coke with my steak and chips - nomnomnomnomnom. Ordered them all at the same time.
RE jobs tend to only be beneficial if you are going to that place anyway as the fee is usually non-existent. I've not picked up a job with RE for weeks.

I can SA on ESA but when I've had to apply I've waited anywhere between 10minutes and 4 days to know if I've been assigned a job.

I find GR jobs in my area come in flurries - I see nothign for ages and then 3 or 4 in one go.

Where does the time go?

Bit of a thick question. I got a query on a posh handbag store I did recently. The sales assistant who served me apparently mentioned a lot of things which I have no recollection of whatsoever. Either I'm losing my marbles or the sales assistant is talking bulli$h. Anyone else ever had this? Also, apparently, I did not create any rapport. !!!!!!! Am I right in thinking the sales assistant should have made conversation with me, not the other way round? ERRRR!

Was this for AA by any chance? I had a similar experience with them last week and am not not being reimbursed for the product I had to buy  really not happy as, as you say, it is supposed to be the service we receive not the other way round.

Disgraceful behaviour if this is the full story.

    Two options:

    Take it legal...breach of contract.

Or, make sure there's a fault with the item, and take it back for a refund.

Reply to that effect, maybe re-word it though:

"I can say with certainty that the staff member did not mention x, y or even z".

"The staff member did not attempt to engage in conversation with me, in order to build a rapport"

    etc.

Don't leave it open to interpretation...don't say "I don't think the assistant...", say "The assistant definitely didn't..."

It was with React. I did reply, but seriously, I was doubting myself because the response I got was made me out to be some lying piece of ****. I've been mystery shopping for like 2 years now, and this is the first time I have come across something like this.

The sales assistant spoke for like about 30 seconds and then just stood there like a manequin. What was I supposed to do, ask him how he was and how his day was going? I don't think so!

Oh my gosh, sorry for the rant! It just really wound me up. ERRR!

You do need to build rapport back. For example the conversation might go:

    Assistant: is still sunny outside?
You: no it's started to rain now.
Assistant: oh what a shame, my washing is out.
You: oooh it's so annoying when that happens isn't it?
    and so on

If you didn't build rapport it might go:

Assistant: is it still sunny outside?
    You: No
Assistant: oh what a shame, my washing is out.
    You: Oh!

So the assistant assumes you don't want to chat and shuts up, and then gets penalised for not building rapport.

Not saying you did that though - just giving an example of what they might be saying that you did.

I would just clearly state what did and did not happen, including dialogues of any conversations if you can remember.
Here I go again on my own....
