  • I did a bank job before and recognised the cashier. I hadnt seen her for about 15 years and she said to me ' do I know you '. Tried to naturally end the conversation but still ended up going through what the assignment asked me to do as I had started the assignment and then realised I knew her.

Dont know what to do. Should I just do the report or contact the ms company ? Anyone been in the same situation. It wasnt my local branch and I had travelled especially to this branch so if I contact the ms company I would presume I wouldnt get paid.

Personally I'd say just submit it. It's not like it was your best friend and you're going to give them a false great report.

I went to a pub by me and realised that I knew one of the guys from uni. We only know each other by face so I decided it wasn't going to affect my honesty in the report.
  • You know for tax purposes. The mileage that you take off, is it from your house to the place you're mystery shopping and back or just there. It's just that if there and back, some of them fees nearly get wiped out by the mileage. LOL

Normally I would say contact the MS company first, but with it being a weekend it's a little difficult. If it's GFK for example I think they de-allocate really quickly, but GR should be ok if you wait until first thing Monday morning so I don't know what to suggest on that front - Someone else may be along with some more sage advice if you hold on.

As to actually being recognised - I did a retail shop for RE a few months back, and the consultant recognised me from school. I still went through the scenario and when I finished contacted RE immediately, explaining the situation and that she recognised me even though we've had no contact for 10-15 years and that my report was still objective pointing out positives and negatives, and they were really helpful told me to submit the report and I still got paid for it. I think as long as you're up front and don't try to hide it then they should be ok. Rather than than they find out later from the company and sack you!

Do you think she treated you any differently to how she would treat a customer who she didn't know? She she asked if you had moved to the area now and realise you might be a shopper? Or did the report just flow and the enquiry was handled as normal as possible?

    Difficult one..
  • eek has anyone done a re betting shop in norwich centre? forgot left and right grrrrrrr not on google map :( if so please let me know! thanks

I always try and guess the numbers and type the addresses into google.

For example if it's 16 victoria street where the shop is located, I try 14 victoria street and 18 victoria street. Sometimes you get pictures of the places (click on photos) and then you can see the sides buildings and find out if its the shop next to the one you're looking for.

I had that problem. A woman that I'd served on the Saturday happened to be the lady in the travel agents that I was mystery shopping and didn't treat me like she would a normal customer as she was asking things about her phone etc and didn't give me the print out that had a reference number that I need so rang the MS company up and told them and relocate to the job to someone else. Wasted hour. Luckily I was mystery shopping elsewhere in town that day.

tried that and it just says it cant find anything  i took a pic of the shop as well but for once it was a good square shot so doesnt really show what is on each side, same with google picture :( i have asked my housemate to look later when he walks past but he probably wont as he is a pain like that

will submit without (pic clearly shows the location and the street sign is above the door) i can just check tomorrow when i walk past and let them know if they are that bothered :)

    There and back.

I love it when the mileage wipes out the fees. Less to pay Mr Taxman at the end of the year!!!!

The sandwiches are just tormenting me now. I can't decide whether the ones in my area have been and gone already or whether they're still to be uploaded. Then everytime I decide to give up because nothings happened for 15 minutes another 1 will pop on. So i'll wait another 15, give up, and another one will appear. This has to be the slowest upload in the world, can someone please put me out my misery...
