    I am sure O2 Online don't offer bolt ons. Perhaps having a second "crap" phone with a PAYG sim which offers lots of free texts for a certain top up amount a month would get around the problem for the next 9 or 10 months?

    I think you should be able to do an additional text bundle (regardless of what they call it) with an online tariff. reason being that if you walk through buying a new phone on the website on an online tariff then once you've chosen the phone and the tariff you get presented with the 'extras' page - this includes (amongst a variety of other stuff) text bundles.

    if your tariff costs £15pm then get a text bundle of 400 added for £16pm - you'd still be saving £19pm on average (based on your original post).
