Bean sprouts in jars??

I got some mung beans at the weekend - but they say they need soaking/boiling - a bit like a kidney bean pack would say. I know why for kidney beans as this is a very important step but didnt think this was the case for mung beans...
do we think this is just something they print on all their (sainsburys) bean packets, or are some mung beans toxic and thus in need of this treatment?On the up

If you are using the mung beans for sprouts there is no need to soak / boil at all, just add to a jar, rinse with blood warm water, drain, Repeat daily until you have sprouts

I find most things sprout if soaked overnight and then rinsed, and left in a jam jar.and rinsed each day. The best are chickpeas-very tasty and easy.
Ive had probelems with sunflower seeds but marrowfat peas do very well-and a large bag of dried marrowfats are very cheap in the supermarket.0 -
The beans you buy in health food shops and most supermarkets for cooking are fine for sprouting - my favourites are adukis and mungs. I bought a proper seed sprouter at a boot sale for 50p (a great bargain, have seen loads at boots). The beans don't sprout any better than they do in a jar but having layers makes it more productive in a small space rather than having half a doz jars lined up on the windowsill.Oh dear, here we go again.0
