Thanks for this excellent post Black-Saturn. As always you are inspiration to me. I have started using some of your receipes which I think are just fab.
Maybe you should add that these are only ideas so people can pick and choose what they like and they should feel free to add anything of their choice i.e. additional vegetables or if they would like to buy organic or wholemeal they should feel free to do so to. That this is based on your own personal budget and everyone else has their own personal budget etc. etc, etc, etc
Just thought I would pre-empt any of the questions that were raised in previous posts

Here, here. Nice one BS! :beer:Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*2015 Savings Fund - £2575.000 -
I think the basis of your idea is very good and has some great pointers but theres no mention of any snacks, sweets and 2 tins of peas would be gone at 2 meals here.
I couldn't bring myself to spend £1.35 on Aunt Bessies and then £1.99 on profiteroles! Seems a waste of money to me!
I know you have said you and your family have intolerences to veg but really your growing girls need more than the tinned veg thats on the list B-S. If they can eat the processed Aunt Bessies rubbish then they could have some fresh carrots. IMHO
My boys do eat a lot but burn a lot of with at least 2-3 hours 'excercise' a day, be it at the park or walking the dog, kids need good fresh fuel going in.
Today we are having pasta and sausage bake.
4 sausage grilled and chopped, pkt of pasta that was on sale in asda the other week for £1.00 and a homemade cheese on top using value four, full cream milk and 1/4 block of cheese that was on BOGOFF, served with carrots, broccolli and new pots. All the veg was on BOGOFF to in somerfield so I have 2 lots of veg for the price of 1.Panda xx

We don't have snack or sweets.
I have got a fridge full of fruit at the moment which is why I didnt order any more. I've said it twice in this thread already that I will go and restock on fruit and veg several times during this month.
The profeiteroles were a treat. Isnt everyone entitled to a treat? I can't believe how many times I've had to justify my family having a treat.
I'm not very good at making dumplings but I love eating them which is why I bought Aunt Bessie's.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

(the dumplings) Of all the food you claim to make B_S, dumplings should be a doddle, similar to a cobbler.
I question not to make you cross at me but because you post your list, is it not their to be analyised? So we can learn from one another? Its the helpfull way MSE operates as in somone has pointed out the high cost of the pork you buy, now I don't buy pork as it doesn't appeal to my family but it does seem high in comparison to mince/chicken you have there.
Everyone is entitled to a treat, of course they are, I would make them though and then I could make twice as much tbh.Panda xx

The pork steaks have 4 chops in each pack which is enough to feed 3 people for one meal. I bought four packs for £6 odd. So thats 12 pork chops for £6.00 odd. I thought that was cheap2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
