Could someone explain the Savings Calculator please?

Could someone explain the MSE Savings Calculator please?

When I enter "No Savings", then £300 per month @ 3% only a few pounds are added on as interest for every month until I enter to calculate after 11/12 months. The savings then jump into the £100s...why? I don't understand how these rates are worked out and can't get anything to amount to 3%

Regards

Chris.

I can't seem to recreate what you are saying. Could you post the exact figures that the calculator gives you.
