K800i for my 3 upgrade

My 3 contract runs out this month and wanted to ring them up to try for an upgrade. Really like the Sony ericsson k800i. Just wondering if anyone else has got this phone from them for their upgrade recently? What kind of deal shall I expect / push for?

Currently I'm on Talk and Text 600 plan (£30 / month).

The great thing about 3 is that they will match their new connection deals on upgrades. shop around their deals and see then try for that.

I got a free K800i, on the same tariff as you, with a credit of £176.25 applied to my account, so about 6 months free line rental.

are you sure? i haggled on the phone with 3 upgrade team for me contract to be upgraded but best they would offer me is 6mths free and nokia 6280. They said openly they can not match any deals for new customers - deals which i have seen openly.
I am disappointed in 3 now in terms of their price matching and deals, but happy with network quality and customer service in general.

Just rang up 3 and they offered me the following deals:

Free Sony ericsson k610i / 6 months free (ON Talk&Text 600) / 12 month contract
Free Sony ericsson k800i / 3 months free (ON Talk&Text 600) / 12 month contract
Free Sony ericsson k800i / 14 months half price (ON Talk&Text 600) / 18 month contract
Free Sony ericsson k800i / 4 months free (ON Talk&Text 900) / 12 month contract

Very confused now

What do you think of the above? I still have 30 days to go before the contract ends..do you think its worth calling again towards the end to try my luck?

Personally I would go for K800i as it is an exellent phone with an exellent camera (very bad for video recording) 3 MP.

Free Sony ericsson k800i / 4 months free (ON Talk&Text 900) / 12 month contract - Personally I would go for this deal but try another 2 times and then choose the best offer.

I've just phoned today for a k800i on talk and text 600 and all I was offered was 3 months half price.I spoke to them on Monday and was told I could have the phone and a credit back to my account for £176 odd but the phone was out of stock.When I told the advisor this she said thats the best they could do so I asked for my pac code and 30 secs later she gave it me.What next?

From past experiences I know that you are likely to receive a different upgrade offer every time you ring any network for an upgrade. I don't really know why they cannot stick to the offer until the contract ends.. in some cases it is only a matter of few days.

On one ocassion I rang up and I was told by the 3 advisor that the upgrade deal they offered me was only valid that day, and on another ocassion they told me I had a few days.

Anyway its always worth giving them a call the day before contract ends or a day before you plan to use your pac.. so that they know its their last chance to retain you.
