Anyone currently a member of an on-line DVD rental service which is any good? If so, are the company that you're with doing any deals if you recommend a new customer. I know that CD-Wow give out a £10 voucher for the referrer and new customer on sign-up, but does anyone know of any better deals and interested in referring me. I can't guarantee I'll do it, depends on the deal, but thanks in advance.

I have just started to use Lovefilm and find the service very good. Mind you, the films I have chosen have been rubbish, still that's just my poor choice.0

Why not try the companies offering 30 days trial period for continuous free DVDs! Have just had a months trial with Screen Select who I can highly recommend and am now receiving a further months free trial with Love Film. Then I shall be moving on to Blockbuster! Enjoy0

I was with Screenselect about 8 months ago but the more popular they got (and when they merged with In-Movies), the less they could handle the volume of business. They ended up taking 3-4 days to turn around a film. They were sneaky too. I'd send each film back 1st class and they wouldn't book it in for 3 days - blaming the post. More like their backlog.
Gone with DVDS365 now. No complaints apart from the usual one about not getting the films from the top of your list. They all do that though!BE NICE - IT'S FREE!0 -
If you join through Linemypocket you will also get some cashback eg screenselect and lovefilm both offer £4 cashback for signing up even if it's only for the free trial. The website is https://www.linemypocket.co.uk0

i have been using tesco's since start of december, i can highly recommend them. i pay 13.97 and have already had loads of dvd's all the one's from my top list. They have a very quick turnaround. Im saving myself a fortune in rental. They also have a 14 day trial. I have a code for you if you wish to use it which is 113322.0

This code for Tesco DVD rental....does it allow more than 14 days as the site indicates? It is not MY fault that I never learned to accept responsibility!0

I do NOT recommend tesco dvd rental!
I cancelled my account today. I signed up January the 1st for a free trial. The next day, I received an e-mail saying Sorry, you're not eligable for a free trial because someone at this address has already had a free trial with Screen Select.
Fair enough I thought, so I considered it for a few days, and decided to pay for a month.
I entered my card details, and it said your account will be verified within 1-2 hours. If it's not verified you can e-mail us.
After a couple of hours, nothing. I went to bed, the next day was the same, nothing.
So I dropped them an e-mail. Nothing. After 17 days, I receieved a response saying "Your account isn't activated, blah blah, would you like us to activate it for you?"
17 days!!!
So I e-mailed back saying Yes please, activate it immediately.
Nothing. That was around the 18th Jan. One week later, I was getting MIGHTILY annoyed. They don't have a phone number, so I called the main customer service number for tesco, and they told me they contacted them on my behalf and told them to correspond to me directly.
Another week later, today, I finally gave up. I cancelled my account, having wasted an entire month of them playing around, and put my feelings into their comments box. I answered "Would you recommend this service to your friends" with a resounding 'No', and had done with it.
I'm now looking at Blockbuster and I'm about to sign up I think for their free trial, or if that fails, I'll probably pay for a month.0 -
I was going to join tesco's dvd rental but worried. Do you have to sign up for a xperiod of time ar if disatisfied can I cancel immediately? Find them good for everything else online ...0

I had exactly the same problems as Pandilex, basically they seem to have no staff at all as they never EVER reply to emails and have no phone number!
As Tesco doesn't provide the dvd rental itself you will be fine as long as you don't need to contact them. Most things such as cancellations etc can simply be done from the website. You can cancel at any time and if in the first 14 days you will pay nothing!
I would recommend going to https://www.dvdtrials.co.uk and signing up directly to a dvd rental company rather than going through tesco who are doing nothing but pocketing referral money and providing no customer service! You will also get more than the standard 14 days!0
