if you do a search there are lots of alternatives very similar to these but obviousy not with the big name attached to them.

Where about would you be willing to take him to?

My son is going to one in July with the school; they are taking year one and year two, so 6 and 7 year olds generally. It will cost £130 for 3 days including all food and activities which I thought was pretty good value considering they get 8 activities over the 3 days. What have you been quoted?

Hi, my DD went as a school trip in her last year of primary school. It was expensive compared to some camps but she did have a great time!

The food wasn't overly fantastic and she came home hungry but that was the only downside and she can be fussy.

My eldest went last year their school take the year 6's every year after the SAT's. For 5 days in May last year we paid 350 ....however this year my middle son is in year 6 and they have decided to take them later as they go up to Scotland and the schools up there are out in June making it cheaper, this year its costing it us 280....still expensive but my eldest absolutely loved it and its a good experience....Im not sure if I would pay for it if I was taking them- maybe a Center Parcs style trip would be better (and possibly the same price?).

Our lad went on several of these both in the UK and abroad. They're great value if you can book one of their 2 for 1 deals but even if you have to pay the full price, a week's holiday without children is priceless!

I've just had a quick look now and they have some offers on, although they are not for the summer, they are 50% in April, could you maybe hold off a little and see if they bring any offers out nearer to when you are looking at booking?
Could you maybe consider a 3 or 4 night stay?

my daughter went last week :) though she went with her class it cost £175 for 3 days, she said it was lovely the accomodation the food and the helpers. she did nature walks climbing wall/ absailing/ zipwire/ aeroball loads of other stuff also definately a jam packed 3 days.definately well worth the money. this was the one in wootton on isle of wight. they also do day passes so you can go in and do activities. i do believe also that the activities available all depend on the weather as some are to dangerous to do in the wet
