Easyjet online check in

Right have had a read through some previous threads and am a little confused.
We have hold luggage, if we do online check in, do we just pop the cases in an area or do we still have to queue up to get them weighed etc?
What is the benefit of doing online checkin with cases?

You have to queue up to get them weighed.
They don't have to print your boarding card and have already got the standard payment for your luggage and the API is already done.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Also shorter queues at some airports which have separate desks for check-in and bag drop (e.g. they do at MAN and the bag drop queue is usually shorter).
You don't save much time, though.0 -
i think the only advantage of online checking with luggage etc is that you shouldnt get any more costs, sometimes they add more at check in if its over its weight as online it is all sorted.0

Even if you check in online they'll still charge you for overweight luggage. That's why they weigh it at the bag drop.0 -
So there doesn't seem much point really then?
We are flying from Gatwick if it makes any difference.0 -
It's not hard to do, though. It will take 2 mins and if you're lucky it might save you 10.0

Don't people who check in on-line get to board before those who check in at the airport (assuming passengers aren't being bussed to the plane)?3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000

That is often the case yes. Online check-in usually gets you in boarding group A, whereas people who check in late at the airport end up in B. (All assuming you're not Speedy Boarding or Special Assistance).0 -
There's no Group A or B anymore, it's now Speedy Boarders, people who need assistance, and then everyone else so checking in online doesn't get you ahead anymore.
It makes a huge difference when flying from Liverpool Airport as the Easyjet queue is always massive (especially early morning), but with the bag drop desk there's only ever been two or three people in front of me0
