Have had a busy morning, took Jack for his repeat blood test which went much better than the last one and we've done a Mr T's run (steak for tea yummy ) and now I've just sat down and am about to watch the second half so will be back directly with more thoughts!

Of course, sharing the knowledge will create abundance! Its quite straight forward when you try isn't it? Well I've watched the whole thing through now and I'm pretty convinced that with practice its going to be a really good way of looking at the world ! Am going to try to explain it to DH later, and I'm going to rip the audio and listen to it while I'm walking the dog to really get it into my head. I didn't hear anything about pots though Happy, did I miss a bit? xx

I think its utterly intriguing to be honest Elantan! I think it ties in really well with the work we're doing on the wake up thread. I really like the ideas behind it, although I have to admit I am a sceptic. I think what I find really interesting about it is when thinking about the way I've lived my life in the past and the positive and negative things that have happened to me and around me do tie in with how I've been feeling at the time and the attitude that I have had to everything and bearing that in mind, I'm wondering if I can improve on the scores that I set myself as part of the homework 1 using some of the techniques they talk about in The Secret.

What's your take on it?

OMGGGGGGGGGGGG sit down and take this in.... i was doing my spread sheet noticed we had spent over well we would have come the end of the month and we needed £300 to pay for half of album i was thinking in my head oh needs to make an extra 300..... 30 mins later email from oh..... i am doing some laptops at home to fix them i have been given a laptop to sell... so and so has been intouch its the one he wants 250 quid !!! now tell me that is not the law of attraction !!

True the jar system is harv eker..... i asked if i could email them but oh said they are too big, theres a website he got them on for free:D he talks about the jars system but theres a guy on google..... il explain it simples
everymonth when your money comes into your current account you need to split it up into jars ...
55% neccessities this is bills loans minimum payments etc etc ...atm our is 85% but we are working to get this down... so we have split the 15% between the other jars
5% (normally 10%) in to financial freedom account this is the nest egg the goose that will create passive income streams through investments stocks shares etc etc
5% (normally 10%)play account this is where you matche what you put in your ffa and this has to be spent every month or every 3 months if you are saving for something big its about pampering the inner spirit not buying little bits an example would be going to a reastraunt and spending saying 50 quid from play account on a posh bottle of champagne or whaterver something you wouldnt normally do it helps with the recieving muscle...
2% education (normally 10%) this is using for seminars or books that teach you about law of attraction or positive thinking or going to seminars etc etc .. buying harv eker teachings etc etc
give 1% (normally 5%) thisis for charities or birthday cash or giving to someone who you feel needs it its not lending its not to be given to you ... osme say you can do giving by offering help walking a friends dog or babysitting when you give you show you have an abundance etc etc .....
Long term saving spends 2% (normally 10%) now this is for things that take awhile to accumulate so for example mine are for paying off debts and etc ..... now he isnt asking you to throw every last penny and you dont have to be a wizz at the percentages he wants you to get into the habit of managing your money with the jars
a quote " get into winning the money game rather than playing not to loose the money game by paying debts" he says yes pay minimums and stick all the extra cash into a jars eventually when my ltss is full enough il clear something off but im not focusing on debts im focusing on accumulating cash ..... so one jar is for my secured loan that 1% of ltss the other 1% ltss has a label for a credit card and when i have enough in that il clear it off the designated card ... its saying less focus on debt more focus on cash the mroe you keep overpaying all cash on debts you give the impression you like to over pay on debts makies you feel good ... i mean i know its off the scale here but so far ive seen a change in me and i still have the same goal financial freedom .. does that make sense ??

well my take ...

i think it has several really valid points ... and i think that is what can make it a dangerous book ...

by her deffinition of the laws of attraction ... people bring things to them ... like £300 yeah so ok that is so far so good ... but what about cancer ... in the version i looked at she talks about this and says people draw cancer to them ... i dont think taxi would like to hear that right now and i dont think it is true ... i dont for one second believe that the 360,000 people that died in the boxing day tsunami attracted that ... i dont believe the people in iraq and afghanistan drew their treatment towards them ... and i dont think for one second that people like george bush get the life they draw to themselves either

i do think that if you hang about with wrong people you are more likely to go down the wrong path and i think that your thought's behaviours can go along way to affecting your life ... but to say a rape victim wanted to be raped is wrong in my opinion ... and i think that some people will read the book believe everything it says and then meet or know a cancer sufferer and think to themself oh they drew that to them ... or maybe get cancer or maybe be raped and think this is all their own fault ... and that is not helpful for recovery

the book has good the book has bad ... but one thing i know is the book is dangerous

I can see your point, i watched the dvd around the Ca person and i got the impression it was saying to keep positive not dwell on the cancer but move forward carry on as if you dont have it ... i didnt think it said think cancer and get cancer.... maybe i just see it different... it hasnt made me think that people who get certain things have brought it on them selves.... i just utilise it has a way of keeping positive and getting positive..... im sorry you feel that way, and although i dont know taxi well i do keep up to speed on other threads she writes in.. and i have never implied she has attracted this to herself ....

i honestly cant remember what she said now it was such a long time ago that i read/heard/watched it ... but being into n.l.p i am very aware of what people say and i know in the instance of the cancer i re-read re-heard and re watched it to double check i was hearing right ... yes she did say to move on and look to the future and to be positive this is true ... but she did also say that those that were affected by it drew it to themsleves ( i cant remember the exact words sorry) ... and i remember thinking angry thoughts at that point ... after that she lost all my respect ... but she does say valid things and i am not going to take that away from her ...


i am NOT implying in the slightest that you are thinking that about taxi ... i really am not i am just saying that she is going through her treatment right now ... and if some secrect fanatic was to suggest to her she brought it on herself then that would show the danger of the book etc ...
