I'm thinking about buying a mobile phone from America, can anyone tell me if there would be any compatibility issues with using one in England?

Also, do they have the same phones over there as we do here? can anyone recommend a good one for about $150?

The USA system operates on GSM 1900. The UK operates on GSM 900 and GSM 1800. You need to be sure that the handset is tri-band. You can get tri-band handsets in the UK which are suitable for use in the USA.

Then there is the emerging 3g technology. Not sure what band that operates on.
