Children climbed into our garden and took over!!!

I wonder if you can help me.
I was rather stunned when this afternoon after getting back from an Easter Egg hunt my two children aged 6 and 2 went into the garden and found three other children from over the back just climb over the fence and invite themselves into our garden.
They were probably aged 8 or 9.
My son was somewhat over powered mentally, they just climbed on the fence and said it is ok to come in isn't it, and he sort of sub consciously nodded, he spent the next few minutes just stunned, in fact both of my children did, as they spun around the swing and took over the climbing frame and started kicking a ball against any surface going.
I was taken aback and actually felt really intimidated myself.
I just don't know what to do if that happens again.
My son says he goes to the same school as him, and that he doesn't mind if they come in.
But actually I do, but don't know how to go about limiting their access, or indeed stopping them ruining the precariously situated fence, giving us great expense at the same time.
My son certainly didn't look as if he was enjoying the intrusion, and I certainly don't like the idea of spending my time with them constantly arriving when they fancy.
I sent my husband out in the garden to tell them it was supper time and could they now go home, they then spent their time sat on the roof of their fence watching us eat (we have a very small garden!)
Any ideas on what I can do?
Thanks

I had a wee boy from over the back using my garden as a shortcut and using my trampoline when we were out!
Cue 6ft fencing on the one bit we were leaving at 4ft lol
Try climbing that ya wee get!
Seriously tho, you'll just need to tell them no, or make the fence climb proof0 -
If they come back I would open the door and shout 'excuse me, can you leave our garden please'.
I had a swing/seasaw thing in our garden and next door had a trampoline, this attracted some kids up the road to just walk down out path and play (I mean would you really..........) I just asked them to leave.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -

If you can't make fence higher etc how about some of that anti-climb paint? That'll please the offenders parents!
Or you could go have a chat with said parents see if they can attempt to control the little sods!0 -

This is the thing, I feel so awful for my son, it would be lovely if nice children came to play, but I thought this was so rude.
I am worried also about him being bullied by them, they seem very in your face!0 -

It would be, but nice children come to the door or are invited. And people don't feel intimidated by them0 -
Perhaps pop round to see the parents (if they seem approachable) and explain that you don't mind them coming round occasionally but you would rather they were invited and agreed by you instead of helping themselves.
You could always come at it from the POV that you are concerned for their safety on the fence and so you might change it for a larger one that they can't get on top of.Ths signature is out of date because I'm too lazy to update it...

You paint a layer of it on to the surface you want to protect and when little sods decide to climb it leaves marks on them and the clothing. Apparently very difficult almost impossible to remove depending on the type you have!
We used it at a private nursery I used to work at after a number of break ins. Thanks to it the theives were caught. :T0 -
I feel for you....I lived door to NEIGHBOURS FROM HELL.:(...who had three children like this...who used to sit on our fence and watch us...and shout nasty things etc....(you get the idea?)....We constantly had problems with the children and the Mother....we had to call the police...and eventually MOVE! Lets hope it doesnt get quite as bad as this for you (fingers crossed).0
