I thought the range of pressure suitable for the individual tyre was always printed on the tyre wall?

The desired pressure varies depending on the car manufacturer's specifications - they'll have done tests with various tyre pressures and that's how they decide the optimum figures for handling, etc.

thank you guys..i found them on the fuel flap for the mercedes and in the glove box of the toyota. my question now is in both cars there is pressure for when the car is loaded with 5 or 7 passengers and lower pressure for when there are only 2 or 3 passengers...shall i just put the higher pressure? will that give better fuel effeciency even when there is only me in the car?
i woud keep them around the reccomended give or take a few psi

My handbook has 3 pressures - standard, loaded and ECO - ECO being 35 psi all round...

Don't know what the safety implications are of using the 'eco' pressures though.....
depends how you like the feel of the car. the more psi the lighter the steering feels less psi the car will feel slugish

I thought you usually only got a max service pressure, and a max bead seating pressure. Since there is no way of knowing which vehicle the tyre will go on, there is no way the tyre manufacturer would or even could give info like that.
