£1923 not sure how they got this can you break this down the letter should explain how they calculated this.
In your first post you say nearly 7 years so when did you start?
Are you over 41 or are any of your years service under 22?
Do you earn more/less than £380pw?
If you letter says terminated 30 April then thats when you finish.
You can have more time off for job hunting just that 2 days must be paid.
You can take this over more than 2 days eg 4 half days.

The letter reads
Statutory redundncy : 1.0 weeks for each full year of service .
I am 37 years old .
6 years continuous employment
i started on the 6th may 2003
gross weekly pay : £323.08
6 x £323.08
£1938.48p
notice period 6 weeks
to be paid in lieu of notice period .
accured holiday to be paid up to april 30th
what would be the last day of payment then ?
thanks for your advice

You will need to check the following.
My understanding is that if you get paid PILON the redundancy is calculated as if you had worked so with 6 weeks notice that would take you over the 7 years so you are due 7 years redundancy and notice.
Also my understsanding is that holiday accrues to the date you would have left when you get PILON.
Now there is another option but this is down to negotiation and they may not be keen to do it especialy if you claim 7 years service.
Allthough you are getting PILON you are actualy working 3.5 weeks so that could be part of your notice and they could give you the equivilent part of the PILON tax free as an enhanced redundancy payment.
EDIT:
Found a relevent link
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/RedundancyAndLeavingYourJob/Redundancy/DG_174330
if you do not have a statutory notice period (eg because of a payment in lieu arrangement) the relevant date would be when your employment contract would have ended if you had a statutory notice period
SO your 6 weeks from April 6 takes you to 18may so you notch up another year,0 -
I will have this checked out monday , thanks for your time on this post .
i will update you .

Me again !
Work is checking my SRP:p, But i have another question.
My employer is now saying that they have to agree / ok, time off for looking for a job ! I do inform them well in advance(1 week ) , so can my employer refuse time off, if it dont suit the business needs ?
What if a new employer wants me to go for an interview the same day of phoning me .:o
Apparently there struggling with the work load , with me having 2 days a week off .
Cheers for your time

Paid time for job hunting is 2 days total during notice, not per week.
Has the person that will be doing the new role been appointed.
You no longer do the job but supervise the new person doing it after a short handover period and training.0 -
I thought it was 2 days over the notice period , but operations manager advised it was 2 days per week :j. Anyway after a bit of advice from acas they now have altered it , to 2 days over the notice period .:p
Great ay they !
They have not employed anybody to fill the position.i dont think its even been advertised yet .
Thanks again for your indepth advice , really is helpful .0 -
The company has adjusted my SRP , and i do get an extra weeks redundancy .
Thanks for your input on this .
Q . Does my holiday allocation and notice period increase ?
This is what my letter states :
Statutory redundancy pay : 1.0 weeks pay (age 37). I think this is right .
7yrs x £323.08 = £2261.56
Contractual notice period : 1 weeks notice for each full year or employment
Full years continuous employment : 6 years ? not sure on this one
Notice period : 6 weeks , balance of notice period remaining to ber paid in lieu of notice ? not sure on this one .
Accured holiday pay to be paid up until 30th of april 2010.
any advice again would be very helpful
J
ps , ive just recieved a letter saying my finishing date is now 19th april , can they do this ?0 -
It is not as clear for notice.

Holiday I think should be included since this is a benifit of employment yu would have got if you had worked.0
