:)Read a fascinating post on living on £20 a month for groceries yesterday and there were lots of tips on eating frugally, using lentils and oats to bulk out bolognaise adding lots of veg as well. Well I have had a mammoth cook today, and made the best ever lasagne and chilli from the sauce, shall certainly be making it again. Also made a celery, garlic and sweet potato soup for lunches and a victoria sandwich and a fruit crumble.
Chewy62 it may be helpful for you to read the thread, yesterday it was on the first page of OS. Can I please put £120 for May i don't know if I will be able to do it but heres hoping.
Paid all my wages off credit card on Friday, felt good but then I was a bit down, I think knowing that only having OH wage to live off frightened me anyway I pulled my socks up and after reading the above mentioned thread I am more determined. Anyway thanks for running this thread you are great:AMrs M and Others xx

we're declaring for may already lol well put me down for £120 once more please
spent another £18.50 today so my total at the moment is £108.xx (cant remember) so have £12 to last me 6 days. Its definitely possible as only really need to get more spuds.
Am thinking of buying the big sacks of spuds (think 12.5kg) at £3.50 which works out at £1.40 for 5kg. Not as good as aldis 49p for 2.5 kg though!MPs left feb '08 276- Dec 13 36 :T MB Jan 10 ~ £82,377 Dec 13 ~ £29987

Today is the 3rd anniversary of my joining MSE and in that time I have learnt so much. I've been reflecting on the changes I have made but there is still more I could achieve.
Sorry this has turned into an essay but please wish me luck. Kitty x
Kitty, I think you're doing really well, look at the progress and changes you've made! That's the way I look at it - if I wasnt on here my spends would be ridiculous! Like everyone on here we've all got our own personal reasons for doing this and our own goals. Its nice to have support so I wish you all success!:)Hi Kitty,
Firstly happy anniversary, secondly congratulations on getting your debt sorted, :money: thirdly I have a tendency to the 'essay' too so you are not aloneand finally GOOD LUCK! :A
Spigs
Spigs - I enjoy your essays, so keep posting!:) I liked the brisket one, so that will be going on my list for future!
Well done on the budget, too!
[QUOTE=Bluefire;32162889]; Plus our local market which had only been running for 6 weeks has now been cancelled (due to it being too popular if you can get your head around that) so no more 75p punnets for me
How bloomin annoying is that? Maybe the big supermarkets have bribed your council ! :rotfl:I wish we had a market up here, we just dont seem too have any except farmers markets which are very expensive!
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -

Will post my totals when I declare for the month on Friday. Until then, have a lovely week everyone!0 -

Another £26 spend at the farm shop and Herons. I bought 8 links of sausage at the farm shop and it came to £6 - I nearly fell over. They are huge mind so I've made a sausage plait with three and frozen the others. I'll have to be creative - my 10 year old son won't appreciate a single sausage on his plate for tea!
Anyway pay day at the end of the week and no major spends planned so on target. :T
