Hello MMTS:hello:
Click on the little arrow next to 'thread tools' (just under the Reply button) and click on subscribe to this thread. Add subscription. Then when you want to go back to it click on the little arrow next to Quick links and and third from the bottom there is a link to your subscribed threads. Hope this helps:)Debt £26k 18/10/140 -

new to grocery challenge - what do I do? (confused.com)
Shall I wait for the May one to start? or shall I say £150 for the rest of the month. Can someone tell me if I am included?? Or do I just put it in my signature?
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to 'keep hold' of posts which I will find interesting in the future but haven't got time to read now.... I spotted a list of loads and loads of recipes (I think) at the beginning of this thread but I haven't time to look properly tonight as I am meant to be studying and it's past my bedtime too - been on here 3 hours now!
There's so much to keep track of - I have threads on here, clothes challenge, and 2 in DFW and they drop down the boards so quickly - never to be found again... :rotfl:
Any advice - gratefully received....
Hi MMTS, now that you`ve posted if you go to usercp you will find it on your list of subscriptions.
Also if you go to thread tools you can subscribe to a thread from there and it will be added to the list in usercp. Both these can be found near the top of the page next to your log in name.
If you post your GC target in red MrsM will add it to the list on the front page.
Good luck

In what ways are the girls fussy? I was thinking that if it's that they won't eat certain veg which go into a meal eg mushrooms in bol sauce, you could maybe liquidise the veg and then they might eat it. I used to do that with my son - he still loathes mushrooms but I sneaked them into his food all the time that way and he never noticed. I know it sounds mean, but often it's the texture that kids don't like rather than the taste.
I personally find that the cheapest way of feeding lots of people is the big one pot meals like stews and chilli with lots of veg and rice/pasta/potatoes. Cooking separate bits for fussy people takes so much time as well as money.0 -

NSD for me again today may however spend some money tomorrow. I need a cheap sponge mop- you know the type that sort of folds over in half. Anyone know of the cheapest place to get one?

Hi there
Make sure you have plenty of cheap staples in like pasta, rice and potatoes - these can make other ingredients like meat and fish go much further...Mortgage Free x 1 03.11.2012 - House rented out Feb 2016

Would like to join my month goes from 16th of each month to the 16th of next month as that is when my payday is.
My SOA states that I should spend £234.00 per month which includes the pets. 1 dog and 2 cats, plus 2 adults (my son aged 17 and has a humongous appetite) and myself.
Need to reduce this bit by bit to enable me to reduce my debts so I am aiming for £200.00 this month this will include all groceries, cleaning materials, basically anything to do with the everyday living costs of a household etc etc.
I am stocked up on pet foods for the next couple of months so any surplus will go in my debt pot to offer to one of my creditors.Total debt £[STRIKE]37864.78 [/STRIKECOLOR=purple][STRIKE] £31681.03[/STRIKE] -£16700

Hi Greentoad and welcome to OS
Your budget seems pretty good - but if you want to reduce it then take a look at the MBAZ and Weezl threads - they are great for reducing the grocery spend.
Otherwise - its the season for starting to grow your own fruit and veg - why not try planting a few seeds and supplement your budget that way,
Or drop a brand - from famous makes to stores own brand - or to value ranges - not always any difference in taste but quite a difference in price.
There are a lot of threads on batch cooking, menu planning etc which will also probably help you
Best Wishes
