Just making sure I'm doing the right thing

I'm with Severn Trent water-on RV at the moment which comes to £612 a year(shocking amount!!-my ex husband on the other side of town pays half that).I have decided to get a meter and then apply for the watersure scheme as we are a family with 5, soon to be 6, children under 19.This will cut the bill to £301 a year. The rep said we'd have no trouble being accepted. My only worry is what if they cancel the scheme and we are then lumbered with a meter for a family of 8?Is this a long running scheme(I hadn't heard of it till this year)?

Its been going years, i have mixed feelings about this scheme its great if you have small children but you lose the capped tarrif when you have less then three kids on child benefit, the way things are in the world at the moment i cant see my kids (12,14&16) leaving home before they are 30ish :rotfl:im paying £980 (RV) PA for an ex council house as it is:eek: according to a water meter calculator my bills would more then likely hit the 1500+ mark if i went on a meter

I would be really careful as once you fall below what is required you WILL have to pay the bill based on water used.
Watersure only covers certain things whilst they are in effect ( ie benefits, as you can have 10 kids and not qualify for watersure if you don't get benefits, or the right kind). After that...down to you

Well it's been fitted today. The lady at ST said I would definitely qualify as I receive Child Tax Credits and Housing Benefits and have 5 children under 19 and the youngest is only 16 months, one due in May and the next oldest is 7 so it's going to be a few years till I have less than 3 under 19.And hopefully by then we won't be living here LOL.I am sending off my application form today and hope it gets processed quickly.
