o2 contract upgrade
I was coming to the end of my contract with o2. I was on the online 200 tariff which is 200 xnetwork minutes, 200 texts and WAP.
I phoned o2 customer services and asked them to cancel my contract. They put me through to retentions and I was offered the online 100 deal for £15 a month (usually £25) plus £75 rebate. I said I'd have a think about and let them know.
Anyway, I tried again a few days later and they offered me the online 200 deal for £15 a month plus a choice of new phones. I got a Sony Ericsson K610i - 3G which I sold on eBay for £190. So o2 are actually paying me £10 and I get free calls all year!! This was on a 12 month deal.
Good result as far as I'm concerned. Every time you phone up they make a note of what was offered. It seems that the better deals are to be had earlier in the day. Perhaps they have a quota?
