Fair point, but that doesn't take away from the fact you can read your own meter and get a bill generated

I've been with Atlantic for both gas and electricity for over two years now and am generally very happy with them.

The only issue that I repeatedly get with them is that each and every time they issue their statements (every six months), they try to up the direct debits to silly amounts bearing no relation to what I generally use averaged out over the year. I have to phone them (on 0800 freephone number) and argue my case based on my actual usage. They seem to have programmed their computers to predict that I will use more than double my September to March usage over a full year which is crazy.

I am currently about -£30 on the gas and +£25 on the electricity, but they are planning to almost double both DDs from what they are currently unless I phone and quibble about them, which I intend to do tomorrow as I always do.

I assume they do this with all their customers and then wait to see if they can get away with hoarding excessive money up front.
