Online grocery shopping... is it cheaper?

I do an online shop at Mr T every two weeks and always use a £5 off or 500 extra points code. I then shop at asda the other two weeks and use coupons that I have collected.
I also go to Morrisons every month for the BoGofs as well. If I need bits in between weekly shops I nip to my local T Express quite late at night as they normally have stuff reduced. This satisfies my urge to look at reduced items:D Gosh its hard work sticking to a grocery budget;)
in DFW times.

Totally gone off online shopping since my last asda experience, had £10 off £35 shop LOADS of my items were out of stock so didnt get my money off, also lots of subs which I werent happy about so was a really bad shop!!!!
Online shopping Pro's:
See a running total saves embarrassment if you dont have enough pennies.
Do it when you feel like it
Dont have to push the trolley/load it up/bag it up/bring it in
Small children???? dont have to take them!!!
Online shopping Con's:
Best before dates sooner than you like
Dont get to choose you own fruit and veg (had bruised before)
Substitutes! especially when one of them is part of a BOGOF or 3for2:mad:
Dont get to check out the reduced counter
Delivery charge, if i shop with a neighbour we pay halves on a taxi
Theres probly more of both pro's and con's but its late.....ill update if/when i think of more.
Shopping whether its online or not should cost the same (barring reduced counter) depends whether you can stick to your list, I know I have trouble!!!

Also, how many times do you get to the supermarket and think "do I need one of these or is there one at home. I'll buy it anyway".
Before you know it, you've got 12 bottles of ketchup!

I do that all the time if I go to the shops.

I used to shop with Sainsburys and every order, something went wrong. We're not talking about anything major - there would usually be one or two things that they had to substitute for something else, or something would be out of stock. As I only need to shop for me, I couldn't really justify the expense.
There is an Iceland down the road, so now I go there and buy the frozen things at £1.00. I've gone from spending about £50 a month to around £30. I imagine if you have a family, it might in some cases, be more economical to shop on-line-'We shall not cease from exploration, and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time. I only shop online for my groceries. I am terrible for adding things at a supermarket that look nice but we dont really need. I add to my virtual shopping as we run out of things during the week and i take time to look for offers although the majority of my shopping is from the Value and Tescos home brand. Saves me around £30 a week i recon. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Actually it was tinned pineapple and tomato puree!
Well they always come in handy don't they. :rotfl: I have plenty of willpower - it's won't power I need.
