bog standard PAYG, pros n cons
Options
Really cant decide whether to go with Tesco mobile (for the tesco points and triple credit) or back to O2 (for 300 texts a month)
Am going to text friends and ask which network they all on.
I know that I just want a bog standard PAYG and do not want a sim-only rolling contract etc. I'm happy with the phone I've got. I only text and phone, maybe 3 texts a day and a couple of short phone calls a day .. say 10 mins.

this page is good for people like me wanting to compare them to other networks
http://www.asdamobile.com/compare_tariffs.aspx
edit to add - can you turn voicemail off on a asda sim ?0 -
done a search and came to conclusion that tesco is probably still the better deal
** ASDA **
Calls = 8p per minute (£10pm gives 125 mins)
Texts = 4p per minute (£10pm gives 250 txts)
** O2 **
o2 text+web = £10 = 300 free UK texts and unlimited internet
o2 unlimited = £10 = Unlimited texts O2 to O2
----""
= £15 = Unlimited UK calls and texts O2 to O2
(cant find the limits for unlimited regarding fair usage)
o2 text+call = £10 = 25 free minutes and 25 free texts to any network and landline
O2 Rewards get you 10% back on all your top-ups as a thank you for your loyalty.
** Tesco **
5 fav numbers = 10p calls / 5p texts (300mins/600txts)
Half-price calls and half-price text messages to five standard UK mobile or fixed-line numbers
flat rate anytime = 20p calls / 10p texts (150mins/300txts)
£10 top up is tripled to £300 -
Another vote for ASDA. Not the very cheapest, but I do like the simplicity of the tariff, and I've always found ASDA's CS very efficient.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Vodafone do a Text Unlimited tariff on payg. Top up £10 per month to get unlimited texts from 7.30pm to midnight each day. Fair usage policy applies of 3000 texts per month. Calls are 20p per min, texts are 10p each, picture message is 36p. Minimum call charge is 1 min. Can't see how much Voicemail costs to call it. Doesn't look too bad
T-mobile dont have a competitive tariff. 8p per min/5p per text to t-mobile customers jumping to 25p per min/10p per text to non t-mobile customers. Picture message is 20p each and Voicemail is 10p per min. They have a rewards section where for £10per month, you either get free calls to other t-mobile users for the weekend..or .. free unlimited text for the weekend ..or .. £10 free credit to use at the weekend. Not sure on fair usage policy as not interested in this one so havent looked0 -
o2 payg unlimited text allowance is 12,0000
