    Glad to hear that :T
We are going to that very hotel in May :D

I'd like to recommend Kefalonia. We went there in Sept 2008, fantastic place, vying with Barbados as the best holiday we've ever had.

    Cheers

You will love it. Costas (the owner) is renowned as being the best host you'll ever meet. He's an incredibly interesting, well travelled, educated ex-weightlifter who loves people and could charm the birds from the trees. Oh, and his measures...

The hill up from the beach isn't as bad as people make out (unless you're really unfit) and it helps burn off the calories- the food at golden beach is fab. Try the Vigli, and Fedra's especially. The vibe at the Emerald in the evenings is something I'd travel thousands of miles for. Tell Costas the mad English woman who hijacked his bar to raise a toast to him says yassas :T

I second Sardinia, went there in Sept and it was beautiful. We stayed in San Teodoro in a villa, although there were four of us, weeks accommodation, flights and car hire cost us £200 each, bargain!

San Teodoro has beautiful beaches and if you hire a car you can easily find a beach to yourself! It is lively in the evenings in that there is a market and restaurants/bars are open late, but it's very un-British so its still charming and not full of lager louts!

I was on this website looking for car hire recommendations and came across your posting - we are going to Smaragdi II Studios which i think is the same apartments, in May 2010 - have already contacted Costas regarding wifi and he was most helpful (not sure if I will get a signal in the apartment but can always sit at the bar!!)
Now looking forward even more, we usually take 1 week but have booked 2.
We have been to Thassos before and love it for the quiet.
Never been to Golden beach though but intend to get some shore fishing in this time.

I've been to Alcudia in Majorca a few times with my boyfriend. It's a quiet resort (more quiet in some areas than others) with a gorgeous sandy beach. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and also plenty of excursion type things to do also.

The areas to the right/East of Malaga, nice cheap flights in, and rent a villa or apartment from somewhere like owners direct or https://www.villarenters.com

Torre del Mar is where we'd go back to if we were in the area, we were in Roncon de la Victoria and it was a little on the non touristy side for us, nice place but not many English speakers, which because we don't speak much Spanish was a bit daunting for us.:o

They are a world away from Benalmadena etc, they are definitely more touristy/egg and chips. Some folk like that though.:)

Or just down the road from there is Dalyan - that is where we try and go every year, have a look at the kuonos website (sp) it is very quiet - not a karaoke bar or macdonalds to be seen and only a 20 minute drive from the airport.

The people are fabulous and the scenery is stunning i would highly reccommend it and would be very jealous

It is the same place- but be warned, do NOT, ever, make any internet posts after drinking one of Costas' measures!

Have a wonderful time- I am so jealous!

We have booked for Parga Greece 29th May, looks lovely. I can also second another posters choice of Olu Deniz. We go to Hisaronu once a year and enjoy the area
