Young couple searching for quiet beach holiday. Please Help!

We are a young couple with a total budget of £1000 and are looking for a nice sandy beach and a quiet town with things to explore., not a 'party' resort or overtly tourist-y, at the start of June. This is our first holiday just the two of us and we want somewhere preferably in Europe. Please give us any help! Would appreciate so much!

OH and i have been twice to alghero in sardinia, it's a gorgeous town with lovely little squares and restaurants
bits of the area are expensive but ryanair fly there from stansted and the second time we got really cheap flights in the sale. there is a bus straight from the airport to the town with a bus stop outside the hotel we stayed at
also the hotels can be pricey but we stayed both times in a fairly cheap one (i'll dig out the name) it was cheaper because it didn't have a pool- however it was right on the beach, with a 15min walk to the old town along the seafront
argh i want to go back i love it there!0 -
btw we were 18 & 20 the first time we went and 21 & 23 the second time, it's not a party place, but it's italy so bars & cafes stay open v. late, lots of peeps there of all ages0

I would completely recommend Thassos in Greece - some lovely quiet beaches that you can sometimes get all to yourself, even in summer!
Hire a car and explore the island, it is beautiful xx0 -
For the price Halkidiki/Greek Islands , Turkey or the North Africans i.e Morrocco/Tunisia personally0

Have a look for Porto Santo. Lovely quiet place with the nicest beach in Europe.0

Olu Deniz in Turkey isn't a party resort and doesn't attact 18-30's, stag/hen nights etc. It's very laid back and chilled out, and suits both couples and families. We love it there.
There's a couple of noisy bars, but they're easily avoided, and plenty of nice restaurants and bars.
The bean bag bar on the beach is fab. Can't get more chilled than slouching on a bean bag on a beautiful beach, watching the sunset with a cocktail :cool:Here I go again on my own....0 -
Thassos is beyond perfect in June. The Emerald hotel & studios at Golden Beach has a legendary host- the late night bar banter is a perfect end to an evening.Only dead fish go with the flow...0

Glad to hear that :T
We are going to that very hotel in May
I'd like to recommend Kefalonia. We went there in Sept 2008, fantastic place, vying with Barbados as the best holiday we've ever had.
Cheers
