Alternitively, do you and the OP live near each other by any chance????Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0 -
Just to update - the guy came to have a look at it today and after opening it up said the pulleys just needed oiling so he sprayed them with something and put the back back on and that was it! It's back to sounding normal again. Cost £25 but worth it to get rid of that horrendous noise!
Pitdog - that's a shame no-one wants to buy your dryer, you'd think there would have to be someone who needs one!
Thanks everyone.:hello: :hello: :hello:0 -
i really reccommend a condensing one it is well worth the extra money if you can my kitchen used to be like a sauna with the other one. ive got the Hotpoint 7KG CTD00 works a treat it cost £199 when i bought in april but you may get one cheaper, good luck
ps, i know this one is a full size one but a condenser dryer can go anywhere it doesnt need to be on outside wall or near window/door0 -
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to say  The noise is back and that's just been one day!! I've phoned the guy who oiled the pulleys and he's going on holiday today til the 14th  but said that usually just lubricating the pulleys fixes the problem. He said that since it hadn't though the pulleys must need replacing and they apparently cost about £5 each so he's said he'll come and fit them and just charge for the pulleys themselves since I've already paid him for fixing it. Have to wait til the 14th with that ghastly noise though!!
Was thinking about what you were saying about the drum robjak. The only problem is we've had this dryer a few years and never had a problem like that til now so I don't know if it could be the drum rubbing onto the outer casing. Did you have the noise from geting the dryer or did it just develop over time? The other strange thing is that if I open the dryer while it's still on it should stop automatically but the drum just keeps on turning?! Anywaywith having that noise back!!
Regards
Michelle:hello: :hello: :hello:0
