Hi
I currently am on an o2 simplicity pay mothly sim, £15 gets me
300 mins
600 texts
and unlimited o2 to o2 calls
now this is more than enough for me,
calls i may do, about 120 mins a month and about 300 texts, i never go over this plan.
but i want a new phone, and daughter has told me to get a phone that gives me the internet as well.
I have rang o2 and they have said i can have for £15 a month
300 mins
600 texts
and unlimited internet use
with 3gb (forgot what she said about this)
i'm just loosing the free o2 to o2 calls, which i don't use anyway, only daughter on o2.
1 - is this a good deal
2 - i need a new phone, one that i can access the internet on, my budget would be about £100
i'm not bothered with one of those top of the range phones, just something simple that i can use to access the internet, maybe e-mail, use my facebook and look at the odd site.
Anyone any ideas.
thanks

1st I'd say be careful of the 'offer' you are already on simplicity, at the mo if you send a picture message it is classed as 4 texts, your new deal will lose that, 3gb of data is an awful lot to get through in a month, also the phone you are looking at is £75 on PAYG from o2, so where is your extra £25 going?
Finally, the Sony Ericsson Elm looks a much better proposition for your money as it includes a far superior camera with flash, 3g and wifi access,
or the xperia x10 mini if it is under £1000 -

thanks for your reply.
At the moment i don't send picture message, as my phone doesn't allow it.
What i mean is, i can keep my current simplicity sim, and they will remove the free o2 to o2 calls and i can have the unlimited internet.
but i will need a phone to access the internet, i priced the samsung taco lite and it is £75 to buy on pay as you go, i just assumed that i would be able to buy this and put my simplicity sim in the phone, am i wrong in thinking that.
sorry for sounding a but thick, but i'm not very techni

The Taco Lite is old and already due to be superceeded by the Diva, I suppose it depends why you are changing the handset, if you want something to 'pretend' it's an iphone then yes, with new features you may use more facilities, I'm on simplicity too, and use all the features without worry, only use video calling for novelty value, once you start using the internet via the phone, then other shortcomings of the phone may become apparent, the wifi thing is more handy than you think especially when you can download programmes from iplayer and listen to internet radio .0 -

i'm not very technical, i want to change the phone because the one i have now is over 3 years old,
not 100% sure what a i-phone is (don't laugh)
i just want a phone to be able to ring people, text, listen to music occasionally when i can at work, and use the internet occasionally.
i wouldn't be sending picture messages, or maybe the odd one, and wouldn't do the video messaging.

Oh you are lucky not not be aware of an iphone, the marketers tell us it is the benchmark smartphone, yet there are many others that beat it all round , anyways, if you want the handset for music, then be mindful of how much on board or if addtional memory is possible, as music and video will use up memory.
However the handset should suit your requirements, just that it's 'older hat' now, the handset has been out a while and the diva is the replacement :thumb:0 -
