Bought a phone yesterday - can I return it?
Long story short is I broke my beloved phone last week. The sreen cracked and although the phone was wonderful (Nokia E71) if the sccreen is that fragile I decided to move away from it.
I went to Carphone Warehouse yesterday and bought a PAYG with O2 so I could use my regular SIM card. The phone is rubbish! It was £300 which I reluctantly paid because I read great reviews about it.
My coverage, although with the same network, is shockingly bad. I have no coverage on the top floor of the house. With my old phone I could be in a cave and I had coverage. The screen is unresponsive at times even though I was told it was as god as the iPhone (it is NOT) and even though I have it less than 24 hours it has frozen 3 times which resulted in me having to turn it off and on again.
I just read my receipt and it says "certain returns conditions will apply to returns of this handset" (or some such) but I have no idea what that means.
Does anyone know what to expect when I try to return it? I don't want my money back, I just want a phone that works! For £300 I don't think that's too much to ask.

A read of their return policy doesn't look hopeful, I think I'd go down there and ask VERY nicely.
You can always try and sell it on - good luckSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
If it's crashing all the time I'd take it back, tell them it's faulty and as you've now lost confidence in that particular handset you'd like to exchange it for a different one. I'd do it today though if you can, less than 24 hours later I don't see them having a problem (I've done the same myself in the past).
Lets know how you get on.Sigless0 -
If it's faulty, yes (though they'll just want to mend it, or maybe give you another of the same model).
If not, no chance. remember that the phone is now second hand and has plumetted in value from £300-they can't resell it as new.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
