Not yet - only just had an offer on ours, so haven't been wasting people's time on viewings until now. Just wish some of the thousands who've sauntered around ours had done the same:(, but that's something I don't expect everyone to agree on...0 -
Strretview makes the road look odd, partly single track. I can't find the exact house but others on the road look like prefabs and dodgy garage conversions rather than houses!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I really like it.
It looks quirky and interesting. But the major selling point of homes in that area looks as if it would be moorings and the write up for this one doesn't mention any?
I also cannot pinpoint the property via the EA's marker or streetview, so wonder how accurate the marker actually is (they are so often completely wrong) There are 2 on the North east end of Meadow Drive that look as if they might be the house.
Not having the post code makes it difficult to check house prices, but it does look overpriced to me, I think the sellers are being very ambitious and their cosmetic changes can only be expected to maintain property values, not add to them.
View it. See if it grabs you.
And please let us knowMy first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

I have no idea about the location or the true value, but would a bit of internal redecoration, new bathroom and kitchen really add 39% to the value of a property such as this during a recession. If they had increased the size of the house with an extension I could understand it.
I would make 100% sure that the asking price is reasonable and not just the aspirations of the vendor. Go and see lots of other houses to see how this one compares.
As for the design, it would not bother me at all, however, never in a million years would I even be able to get my OH to view a property with a roof such as that. So it may affect future saleability. ALthough my OH does have very strange tastes - she married me for a start.
I would also be getting a full survey done as it appears to have valley gutters which can cause serious damp problems if there are any issues with them.0 -
why does anyone need a breakfast bar... a full dining table in the kitchen .... AND a formal dining room....
beats me.....0 -

Nice electric sub station and shopping trolly,
Wonder what the date of the arial view is, looks very different and a lot of work has been done outside, allthough the next door caravan is still there in the same place.
This is typical of the roads on the broads in this area, a lot of holiday homes0 -
I rather like the quirky looks, although the photo is a bit blurred. Nice area. I'm quite envious! Of course, a bungalow on a flood plain is the worst of all possible worlds.
It does seem grossly overpriced. Bought for £270k and prices have dropped since then. Been on the market 18 months, with no significant drop in price. I suspect that you are going to have to pay fairly near to what they want, or walk away like everybody else seems to have done.
I suspect that it was bought at a discount because of the odd looks and lack of a mooring, and your heirs are not going to be able to realise anything like what you'll have to pay for it. It's one thing to live in a property for 18 months with it on the market on the off-chance that somebody will pay an outlandish price, but it's quite another matter for your heirs to have it empty and be in the position of having to sell.
Shame about the price, because it seems a really nice house in a really desirable area.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
It backs onto a school with a footpath through for the kids. Might be worth checking out at dropping off time, to see how busy the road becomes. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
