Opinions on this property, please

Options
Hello, new to the forum so please be gentle...

Would appreciate opinions on a property, please. As I'm new and not permitted to post a link, it's in Hoveton, 4 bed bungalow, £375,000 - if someone else could post the link that would be greatly appreciated.

It ticks every box for us, except its design, which is different, I suppose. Do others foresee any problems with the design, ie resale, the unusual roof design? Resale not our problem as it's our last buy, but most of the time we quite like our children, and would not wish to land them with a problem after we depart this mortal coil.

Plus any opinions on what sort of offer we go in at? It was bought in June 2007 for £270,000. Since then, to quote the EA's blurb, "The property has been improved by the current owners since their acquisition in 2007 with work including internal re-design, refitting the kitchen and bathroom suites and extensive redecoration." This would seem to make it vastly overpriced..

Cheers

Seems a nice area. Don't think the kids would lose out on their inheritence!
Must be worth a try at £335k, find out exact costs of the improvements to help on guide price.
Not on a flood plain is it? Check that.

I must say that the kitchen is very wee. You shouldn't really be paying £100k for somebody else's redecoration and new kitchen. A lot has happened to house prices since 2007 - and it hasn't been an increase in value by £100k.

What are other properties selling for round about?

Wee = small, or something else?

Properties around here usually sell well, and the price isn't as many miles out as it appears from the 2007 sale price for the internal space - it's the exterior that is exercising my mind.

Yes, but I don't know anybody who spends their time standing on the kerb looking at their house. It is the inside space that matters, no?

  • It does look quite unusual from the outside so I was expecting something different on the inside too. Whilst it has been done up nicely inside, modern etc, it looks like any normal house from the inside. At the end of the day though a house is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Have you viewed the property at all?

Thanks for honesty - I would much prefer honest opinions - having read quite a few posts on this forum, that seems to be much in evidence, and that's why I posted the question on here. You lot are the generation who may be buying this place from my offspring one day for your retirement:D.
