 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Wow - not visited 'my' thread for a while and what a lot of suggestions....

Firstly - Lynzpower - OH works shifts which rules out evening working, else that would be the perfect answer .

Okay so suggestions so far are:

Childminder - lots of people are childminders in my area and advertise lots of vacancies - will wait and see what September brings!
Phoenix cards - sent away for some more information - don't really want to pay anything up front if I can help it
Magazine article - hadn't thought of that - will look into it more
Usbourne books - lady over the road does that, probably got the market cornered!
Cake decorating - amatuer at best! Love doing it - but not good enough to charge!
Cleaner - possibly - will keep my eye open or maybe stick an advert in the local shop
Ironing - again possibly - will poss do this with the above advert
Dog walking - not sure - not overly keen on dogs although we have one ourselves!
Newspapers - done before, absolute pittance. Won't do it again!
Babysitting - could do - will advertise along with the cleaning and ironing! Least I'm CRB checked and cleared!!!
VA - thought about that in the past, not sure I'm confident enough to do it on my own, will look to see if any 'companies' hire outworkers for this - does anyone know any contact???
    AQA - whats that??
Mystery shopping - do it already, but only seem to get banks, and very sporadic
Dinner Lady - ideal hours, will enquire at school come September
    Lodger - no room!
Play Worker - no idea what this is - unless like Play Therapy - but wouldn't I have to be qualified for this?

Blimey - hope I don't sound too negative - not my intention - lots of amazing ideas... Will keep you posted...

    Thanks again,
    FF

PS - for all of you who had said I'm a great mum - thank you, but I'm sure you'd have done the same. The children are fantastic, and never cease to amaze me (oh and send my slightly deranged also!).

    Ahh

AQA - I don't have any teaching experience, so I can't do this!!

Phoenix Cards - looks good, but don't really want to pay anything upfront, so it's a No to them.

Have you considered home based jobs such as being a virtual assistant or copywritting? Or working as a researcher for AQA? I'm not sure how much you could make, but at least its home based.

I have just started as an AQA researcher and have so far in four sessions made £70. It takes a while to get set up but it is well worth it. I do it on my computer while watching tv! It is well worth looking into and they have vacanies at the moment.

You dont have to have teaching experience. But have to be able to write proper english and have access to the Internet to research topics. Its actually very interesting and worth checking out!

...We adopted our two children 3 years ago. They were quite young - however had had numerous homes (we were their 7th placement) and should have been adopted by another couple - who changed their mind after the children moved in (not helpful!)...

Feel for you there...my bro and his now ex-wife had a young toddler with them who the were looking to adopt who had been through a few placements...(already have a daughter)....turned out the wife...after years of going through the red tape...was not as keen...(she knew this before having the child placed with them.....and then complained that the kid 'would not' bond with her! is that any surprise really!).....other reasons as well but won't go into those.....

When they split she was quite clinical about it.....i.e. you can still adopt her and I'll have our daughter!....bro was heartbroken.....but in the end he thought it would be best fo the little'n to go to another couple...maybe with a family already....didn't think it was fair bringing her into a disrupted family when she had so much of that already...

Must be so hard for them to learn to trust what adults say and do though...when they've already had so much disappointment..

AQA - hi, Will look at this again then, perhaps I missed this bit!

Adoption - The whole process is heartbreaking. I read in the Saturday papers about an adoption that had broken down, and it made me cry. Adoption is - or shouldn't be entered into lightly, and both parties need to be equally for it. I really feel for your brother, it must have been incredibly hard.

Ours are an absolute joy, and I love them to bits. However they certainly have had their moments (i've had a split lip before!), but I can not even begin to comprehend the trauma that they have been through. Our life is so much more complete now - and yet so much more chaotic and poorer financially, yet richer emotionally.

Hi - I'm struggling to find this - which possibly doesn't bode well in terms of research!! Can you help me in the first instance! Many thanks, FF

    Ha ha....

Putting AQA into Google brings up Examining boards - and the vacancies there are just for Teachers !!!

AQA reseach brings up 'Any Questions Answered' - although it only looks like they are after people in Ireland, Australia or New Zealand at the moment!!!
