Bulldog are still taking money from my bank when I cancelled with them in MAY!

I used to have an account with Bulldog for my phone and my broadband. As my hubby is in the armed forces we move about a lot so when we found out we were on the move again to Germany I phoned Bulldog and said I wanted to cancel my contract with them as we were leaving the country on 9th June. So I had given them 30 days notice as thier site stated I had to do.
I then phoned them on the 9th of June telling them they hadnt cut off my line yet and I was moving out THAT day. They said they had no record of my cancelation! Then they said they would need a further 30 days to cancel the contract! Funny that!
So after much arguing on the phone and being passed from one person to another I was finally told that they would let me cancel on the 20th of June instead of the full 30 days. I decided that it was better than nothing so I agreed, but insisted that they took my bank card off thier computer as they were STILL taking payments from my bank despite me asking them not to. They not only agreed to this but they gave me a reference number to quote to prove they had done it.
As you can imagine I was a little more than miffed when the following month I have a letter from my UK bank saying that ive been charged for going overdrawn because BULLDOG have taken another payment from my card.
I phoned my bank up and explain and thankfully they reversed the charges but insist that I cancel my card with Bulldog, which I did AGAIN.
I am now at my wits end as Bulldog have emailled me ANOTHER bill saying that they will be taking the payment from my bank in 14 days, which is this week! I have emailled them 4 times now about this and they just say they need ta take this LAST bill from my bank before they can agree on any refunds! Which knowing thier past record, I will probebly never see!
The bank say they cannot cancel any payments from them as it is a card payment. I used my card to pay 1 pound when I first opened an account with them months ago and they keep taking thier money each month using the same method.
The Abbey have now said that the olny way I can stop them taking money from my bank is by closing my account! Cancelling that card wont help, just my whole bank account. I cant do that as I have an overdraft which I cant afford to pay back, and not only that I dont want to close my bank account! Why should I?

If anyone has any ideas as to what I can do please help! I dont know what else to do. I cant afford to pay the bill as Ive just started a new job and havent been paid yet.

Thanks,
Tracy :o
